4th June 2022—Kate wore a pink gingham blouse by Brora in a video released by the palace. The eight-second long clip is a montage of photos showing the Duchess baking cakes with her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.
There’s festive Union Jack bunting hanging above.
The three youngsters help prepare the cakes, each wearing shorts and a polo neck.
In one photo, the family ice cakes and add sprinkles. Charlotte—who has apparently changed outfits, perhaps due to getting covered in cake batter—looks pretty happy with her handiwork.
The final photo in the montage shows Charlotte and Kate smiling at one another—a sweet moment.
See the video below:
In a comment with the video, the palace said the cakes were for the local community in Cardiff, to be enjoyed at a Platinum Jubilee street party.
I presume Kate and the children baked the cakes before visiting Cardiff Castle on Saturday.
This is the third time we’ve seen the Cambridge children in recent days. In addition to visiting the Castle on Saturday, George, Charlotte and Louis attended Trooping the Colour on Thursday.
The baking photos were released on the fourth and final day of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend—a long weekend celebration of Her Majesty’s 70-year reign.
The royals marked the historic occasion with engagements across the United Kingdom. Catch up with the coverage so far, here.
On the fourth and final day of the celebrations, over ten million people in Great Britain took part in the Big Jubilee Lunch. Last year, Kate attended a reception at the Eden Project to thank volunteers for organising the initiative.
In London, a pageant took place in tribute to the Queen. It brought to life iconic moments from the past 70 years and featured national treasures and iconic figures from the worlds of music, film, sport and the arts plus military personnel, key workers and volunteers.
Let’s take a look at what Kate’s wearing in the baking video now:
Kate’s outfit and accessories:
The Duchess chose a casual outfit for her cake caking session with the children. She donned this cheery pink gingham top with a Chelsea collar by Brora. It’s not an item we’ve seen her wear before. (Thank you to Emily for the quick ID!).
The £129 gingham check blouse features an oversized Chelsea-style collar with frill trim at the neckline. It also has flattering cuffed sleeves and white buttons down the front. The vibrant pink shade is described as ‘peony’. It’s made from 100% cotton.
If you’d like to copy Kate’s style, the blouse is available to pre-order from Brora.com for £129. Delivery available within three weeks.

Can’t wait three weeks for delivery? Need something now? Here are three alternatives I found, to help you ‘get the look’ —
Kate’s clearly a fan of Brora, she’s worn quite a few pieces from the company over the last few years, including a belt, a shirt, a pair of earrings and a sweater.
Brora is a British brand, located in Scotland. The company’s well-known for working with 200-year-old Scottish mills to produce luxury cashmere goods.
It looks like Kate paired the pink gingham blouse with her & Other Stories ‘Favourite Cut’ jeans.
A closer comparison of the button/waist area. Kate on the left, a stock image on the right:
We first spotted the Duchess wearing the blue jeans in 2021. First, in a photo showing her receiving her COVID-19 vaccination, then during a visit to the Urban Nature Project at the Natural History Museum. At the start of this year, she publicly wore the jeans for a third time, to read the CBeebies bedtime story.
& Other Stories sell the Favourite Cut jean in two leg lengths: cropped and standard. There’s 6cm difference between each pair. A lot of people think the Duchess wears the cropped version.
I can’t say which exact shade of blue Kate wears. If she wears the cropped version, then I’d say she probably wears ‘acid wash’ (which does seem to match with the vaccination photo). The standard leg length comes in ‘acid’, ‘light blue’, and ‘pale blue’.
The Favourite Cut Jeans are crafted from organic cotton and offer a high waist with a slim leg and comfortable stretch. All the zippers, threads, buttons and rivets have been sustainably sourced. RRP: £65-75.

& Other Stories is part of the same group as H&M. The company describe itself as a “one-stop styling destination filled with collections from three design ateliers in Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles”.
To date, we’ve only seen Kate in one other item from the brand, a multicoloured floral dress.
Let’s take a look at Kate’s jewellery in the baking video. This is the best image we have to work with:
The Duchess appears to be wearing a gold necklace with a stone in the centre and a pair of (matching?) earrings.
On Twitter, Emily messaged to say Kate could be wearing the Bali necklace from Auree Jewellery. Possibly the matching Barcelona Earrings too.
We’ll have to wait for better quality photos or for the Duchess to re-wear the items before we know for sure.
However, Kate’s birthday is January and garnet is the birthstone for that month, so the theory could be correct. The items might have been a gift.
Others think Kate might be wearing her Kiki McDonough Citrine Drop earrings and the darker colour in the centre is just a reflection—the shape is similar. It’s a possibility.
The Kiki McDonough Citrine Drops are probably one of Kate’s most-worn pairs (in public of course, we have no idea what she wears at home) so it’s not a bad theory.
Cambridge Children’s Outfits!
The brilliant Bojana identified each item of clothing worn by the Cambridge kids too.
The boys are wearing matching polo shirts and Bermuda shorts by Spanish brand Sfera.
Princess Charlotte starts off wearing a pink polo shirt from British brand Next with blue cotton shorts from the Spanish brand Mayoral.
She then changes into a striped tee with pom pom trim. It’s from another British brand, Boden.

The boys’ hair changes too – natural vs product in it.
Carly W says
Ah, so it does! It must be at different times of the day.

I know the Jubilee was about HM and her impressive 70 years as monarch, but I was surprised how much we saw of the adorable Cambridge children. They were darling! I think the first picture of Kate and Charlotte is very special. What a cute photo!
