Follow in Kate Middleton's fashionable footsteps: her history in heels
Kate's sophisticated style is admired by many. Her collection of heels is no exception, imagine having access to her closet! It must be filled with pumps of all styles, a shoe for every occasion!
Kate's been a member of the Royal Family for over a decade. In that time, her taste in footwear has evolved. In the early years of her marriage, she favoured platform pumps. She had two pairs that she wore pretty frequently, this nude pair by L.K. Bennett and this black pair by Jimmy Choo. She'd often wear the former in the day, usually paired with a chic dress. For evening events, she'd wear the latter with a gown.
Kate's love of platform pumps made headlines around the world, they became synonymous with her style. Though in time she ditched them, swapping for sleeker silhouettes instead.
At the same time, she started adding chunky blocked heels to her closet (see this black suede pair from Tod's, for example). Of course, she still wears stilettos regularly too—but it was rare to see her in anything but until approximately 2016.
In terms of colour, Kate sticks to the basics but branches out if an outfit dictates. Her everyday shoe closet is filled with nude, navy and black styles. Though, she has lots of red and subdued tones too (like mossy green, dusky pink, burgundy, tan etc). The Duchess will often wear a single-coloured court shoe with her outfits. Usually something unfussy that compliments her ensemble.
What size heels does Kate Middleton wear?
We've seen Kate wear a myriad of heel heights over the last decade. She most frequently wears 105mm (4.1 inch) styles. Though, in recent years, she's added more 85mm (3.3 inch) styles to her collection too.
