21st April 2022—Today, Kate Middleton looked polished and professional in an outfit from high street favourites Reiss and L.K. Bennett. The Duchess wore a midweight blazer over a white blouse and black trousers during a visit to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) headquarters. At DEC HQ, William and Kate learned more about the ongoing appeal to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The appeal will help some of the 11 million people who have fled their homes to escape the conflict. DEC charities and their partners are already on the ground in Ukraine and neighbouring countries helping refugees and those who are displaced. They’re assisting with food, water, shelter and medical assistance. The money raised will continue to allow them to help people affected by the conflict in the months and years to come.
To date, DEC’s Ukraine appeal has raised over £300 million from UK citizens, companies, trusts, arts institutions, community groups and schools. The UK government have added £25 million to the fund and we know the Duke and Duchess contributed an undisclosed sum too. Today, the couple pledged to give a second donation.
During the visit, William and Kate spoke with DEC staff, both in the UK and on the ground in Ukraine (via video link). You can watch the Zoom conversation in the video below:
The couple also heard how the conflict in Ukraine threatens to exacerbate existing humanitarian crises elsewhere in the world.
The Disasters Emergency Committee is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response.
Kate’s outfit today:
The Duchess looked smart and chic in a double-breasted beige blazer paired with black slim-leg trousers and black heels. Let’s take a look at the specifics:
Blazer
Kate’s wearing the Larssen blazer by Reiss in the colour ‘neutral.’
The stylish slim-fitting tailored blazer is made from a wool-mix fabric that has a distinctive twill weave. It features wide peaked lapels and tortoiseshell buttons. The jacket is mid-weight, so it’ll see you through the spring and autumn months.
Reiss re-issued the beige blazer last December. At the time of writing (April 2022), it’s still available to buy from Reiss, Selfridges and Fenwicks in limited sizes. RRP: £285.
We first saw Kate wear the beige blazer in September of last year, during a visit to RAF Brize Norton.
On that occasion, Kate paired the blazer with navy wide-leg trousers, block-heeled shoes by Emmy London and her Tusting Mini Holly bag in taupe.
Reiss is a brand that Kate has worn fairly consistently over the last decade. The Shola dress is probably the most notable item she’s worn from the British brand.
Earrings
We saw a return of Kate’s Kiki McDonough Citrine Pear Drop Earrings at DEC HQ.
The earrings feature a yellow citrine pear-shaped gemstone suspended from an 18-carat gold hoop.
The Citrine Pear Drops are still available to buy today at kiki.co.uk. RRP: £550.
Kate’s owned the yellow gemstone earrings since at least 2009. She wore them during quite a few public appearances in the first five years of her marriage—we’ve seen them less frequently in recent years.
Trousers
Looks like Kate paired the beige blazer with her L.K. Bennett Frieda trousers in black.
The Frieda trousers are classically tailored with a traditional straight-leg cut. They’re made from black stretch crepe.
The so-called ‘cigarette-style’ trousers are still available to buy in limited sizes. Find them on L.K. Bennett’s website in size 18 only. Now £75 was £125.
I believe Kate owns the same pair of slim-leg trousers in blue too (shown below in 2021 during a visit to the Imperial War Museum. Kate’s wearing the trousers with a Catherine Walker coat, Alexander Mcqueen Military blouse and Gianvito Rossi 85 Pumps.)
Kate is very loyal to L.K. Bennett. I’ve lost count of how many pairs of shoes, coats, dresses and bags she owns from the brand.
Pumps
Kate debuted a pair of black heels with her smart-chic outfit at DEC HQ. Heaven suggests they’re the Ralph Lauren Celia pumps (verified by The Data Duchess).
The black calfskin pumps have a pointed toe and 100mm (4″) high heel. The shoes are made in Italy and feature a padded calfskin insole for added comfort. You can still purchase the pumps in black (and several other shades.). Shop them at RalphLauren.com RRP: $695.
Kate is a fan of Ralph Lauren and clearly shops with the label often. She owns quite a few of their items (including a pair of suede boots, a blouse and several sweaters.)
Kate owns the Celia pumps in brown too:

Finally, Kate wore what looks like a white cotton t-shirt underneath her Reiss blazer. Sadly, no further information about the piece is known.
