After meeting with children at the Salaam Baalak Trust this morning, Kate changed into a teal dress by Temperley London for the afternoon’s events.
First, William and Kate met and had lunch with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
The couple then met with a group of Indian women to hear about a range of issues affecting women and girls in the country. Prince William requested the meeting:
“[William] wanted an opportunity to hear directly from women working to support other women and girls. He also wanted to get a sense of work being done to help young women to achieve their full potential and for men to become more supportive of the women and girls in their lives.”
During the visit, William and Kate met acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. At 15 years of age, Laxmi was attacked with acid after she rejected a 32-year-old man’s marriage proposal.
Laxmi is now a TV host, campaigner, and director of an NGO dedicated to helping the survivors of acid attacks in India.

Next, William and Kate said their goodbyes in New Delhi and headed to Assam.
Upon their arrival, Will and Kate were given a traditional welcome.
