This afternoon, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended Wimbledon to cheer on Britain’s Andy Murray in the mens quarter-final.
The couple sat in the Royal Box to watch Murray play against Canada’s Vasek Pospisil on Centre Court.
Usually, Kate wears white and cream ensembles to Wimbledon, as we discussed in a .
However, today, she surprised us by turning up in red!
L.K. Bennett call their red Cayla the “go-to dress for that special occasion…[it] is designed to flatter.”
The dress retailed for £250 (that’s approximately $385 USD).
Update – July 2016: The dress is on Brand Alley for £99. (UK, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands only).
You may notice the Duchess carried a familiar bag. It’s her Diane von Furstenberg Lytton snakeskin clutch bag in the leopard print design –
Net-A-Porter.com used to sell this piece for £290 (approximately $445 USD). Here’s how they described it:
With a dark-brown leopard print, Diane von Furstenberg’s taupe snakeskin clutch will add eclectic edge to every look. Carry it to cocktails with a pleated black maxi dress and statement gold accessories.
Kate first carried this clutch bag (in public) during the North America tour in 2011. She also carried it to Wimbledon in 2012.
Today saw the return of a few familiar accessories.
Kate wore her Cartier “Ballon Bleu” watch (33cm size) – it should be familiar to fans by now, the Duchess has worn this watch constantly since Prince George was born.
Kate’s gold hoop earrings made a return too –
The Duchess first debuted these earrings in January 2015, during an event held by The Fostering Network
Kate paired the dress with her nude Jimmy Choo Gilbert heels. The shoes are made from kid leather and feature an almost-toe shape.
At times, Kate wore her Rayban Wayfarer folding classic sunglasses.
Kate’s hair is causing quite a stir on social media today – it appears she’s had her hair cut, with a long fringe (bangs) added –
The Wimbledon twitter account uploaded a short video of William and Kate’s arrival today:

Today, the Duke and Duchess were joined by the Countess of Wessex who looked beautiful wearing a lovely dove grey dress by Anna Lee. If you’d like to follow Sophie’s style (and you should, she always looks so elegant) visit my friend Anna’s blog for more details.
Steal Kate’s style:
Sadly, the red dress has now sold out at L.K. Bennett. If you’d like to copy Kate’s Wimbledon look for less, try one of these dress options:
