Royal round-up: New event announced for Kate, Reiss restock the Vinnie blouse & more!

Yesterday (March 1st, 2016) Kensington Palace announced a new engagement for Kate. She’ll visit XL Mentoring with Prince William on Friday, March 11th.  The mentoring service is part of the XLP charity in London. Kate re-wears Emilia Wickstead coat dress for Irish Guard parade

Earlier today, William and Kate visited the Mons Barracks in Aldershot for the annual St. Partrick’s Day parade, where they met the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.  In his capacity as colonel of the regiment, William took part in the parade.  Meanwhile, Kate met officers and guardsmen, and then pinned bunches of shamrocks onto their jackets.  This tradition dates over 100 years, started in 1091 by Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII. Kate in green coat dress by Emilia Wickstead for St. Patrick’s Day

In March 2012, Kate arrived at Mons Barracks in Aldershot to present Irish Guard soldiers with shamrocks to mark St. Patrick’s Day.  This was Kate's official first solo military engagement. During the presentation, Kate also pinned shamrocks to the collar of a very special member of the regiment:  their mascot, an Irish Wolfhound dog named Conmeal. Kate wears Alexander McQueen military jacket to Armed Forces Day ceremony

To mark Armed Forces Day in Great Britain on June 25th 2011, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended a ceremony at at Windsor's Victoria Barracks. The Royal Couple presented medals to members of the Irish Guards. The event was Kate’s first military role as a member of the Royal Family and we think she dressed the part!  Her ensemble was demure yet serious: very apt considering Kate met with families of the Irish Guards who had been killed in Afghanistan.
