On the 20th of July 2017, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their visit to Heidelberg by taking part in a rowing boat competition on the River Neckar.
The Royal Couple joined female rowers from Cambridge and Heidelberg for a friendly race. You can watch a video of the race below:
William’s team won!
During the Royal Visit, our Twitter friend Sara managed to say hello to Kate in Heidelberg. She captured the moment on camera and has kindly let me share the photograph here:
In the photo, Sara is passing Kate handmade gifts for George and Charlotte. How exciting!
Kate’s outfit:
Kate chose a blue and white striped top by Hugo Boss for the waterside activity. Sadly, we have no further information about the top, so we’re guessing it’s from an earlier collection. However, the company do have a few striped tops in stock if you’re looking for something similar.
As you may be aware, Hugo Boss is a German company with its headquarters in Metzingen, a city in the south-west of the country.
Kate chose a familiar pair of shoes for today’s rowing contest. They’re the Superga Cotu Classic sneakers in white.
Kate first debuted the white shoes during a visit to Canada in 2016. The sneakers are made from cotton canvas and have a gum sole. According to the company, the shoe has been in production since 1911! A number of retailers carry the style, including Superga, ASOS and Nordstrom.
Unsurprisingly, Kate did not change her earrings from the earlier events in Heidelberg. She continued to wear her Oscar de la Renta Pearly Sun Star studs.
As we noted in our earlier post, the simulated pearl and gold plated earrings are no longer available to buy online. Update: As of 15th August 2017, the earrings are once again available to purchase for $175.
If you like the Sun Star style, you’ll be pleased to learn that Oscar de la Renta offer different pieces of jewellery in the same design, including the “double drop” earrings and cocktail ring pictured below. Click here to see.
Kate wore her Ray-Ban Folding Wayfarer sunglasses out on the water.
After much sleuthing, some of our readers found that Kate wears the RB4105 style, which is the Wayfarer Folding frame in “tortoise” with B-15 polarised lenses. You can purchase the sunglasses from Ray-Ban.com for $200 USD / £170 GBP.
Finally, Kate wore her trusty 33mm Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch. I believe she’s worn this regularly since Prince George’s birth in 2013.

I think this is up there with India as my favorites of their tours. Great spotlight on Germany. What a beautiful country. Friendly, down to earth people — making pretzels, giving her sunflowers. Look at that! So cute! Kate and Will seem to be really in their element there.

I think my favourite tour was Canada 2016, and perhaps Bhutan because it was such a spectacular place. I can’t wait for them to visit more places!

Thank you for this breakdown! Do you happen to know what sunglasses she’s wearing here? I can’t find that info anywhere and I love them! Thank you! 🙂

Pretty sure they were her RayBan Folding Wayfarers: https://katemiddletonstyle.org/item/ray-ban-wayfarer-folding-classic-sunglasses/
But I haven’t double checked this with HQ pictures.
