Today, William, Kate and Harry visited the ‘White Garden’ at Kensington Palace. Historic Royal Palaces planted the garden in memory of Diana Princess of Wales.
The commemorative display marks the two decades since the Princess’ death.
As its name suggests, the White Garden has been filled with white flowers and foliage.
Historic Royal Palaces say the flowers were inspired by memories of Diana’s “life, image and style”.
The display includes English white roses, ornamental grasses and Cosmos daisies.
You can take a virtual tour of the garden in this video:

Kensington Palace, the location of the memorial garden, was Diana’s former home. Of course, William, Kate and Harry have apartments in the palace today.
Unfortunately, the weather didn’t hold out for the visit. The skies were overcast and it was raining.
Definitely umbrella weather!
Sean Harkin, Historic Royal Palaces’ Head Gardner, met William, Kate and Harry upon their arrival. He showed the trio some of Diana’s favourite flowers.
After, William, Kate and Harry met with representatives from various charities supported by Diana, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, the National Aids Trust, The Leprosy Mission, Royal Marsden Hospital, English National Ballet and Centrepoint.
The brothers viewed the tributes to their mother at the gates of Kensington Palace. They also briefly spoke to some of the well-wishers gathered nearby.
Kate’s outfit:
Kate chose a green floral dress by Prada.
The dress features a poppy print design. As Susan from What Kate Wore noted, “the poppies in the print were a lovely symbol, representing remembrance and consolation.”
The 100% silk-crepe dress features a softly pleated knee-length skirt, an elegant necktie, full-length cuffed sleeves and a smocked waistband.
At the time of writing, it can still be purchased from MatchesFashion and MyTheresa for £1,420.
Kate accessorised the dress with a pair of green and gold earrings by Monica Vinader. They’re the Siren style.
The earrings feature a multi-faceted Green Onyx gemstone encased in 18ct gold plated sterling silver. The earrings cost £125 GBP / $195 USD and can still be purchased from MonicaVinader.com and Nordstrom.com.
Kate chose her L.K. Bennett Fern heels for the visit to the gardens. The shoes feature an elegant pointed toe and a slim heel. They’re made from nude-coloured Nappa leather.
The shoes can still be purchased from L.K. Bennett (£195 / $345), John Lewis (£195) and Shopbop.com ($325).

I don’t think I’m feeling this dress after the fabulous looks in Germany. The puffy sleeves and that bow are just so dated. Like beyond dated. Diana wore these things in the 80s and that’s where they need to stay. Where are the fresh, modern feminine looks?
I get the sense with Kate that she follows the mood of the public and has been choosing her outfits to reflect that mood. But she needs to stop. She needs to decide what her style actually is and simply stick with that.
Trisha says
I agree! Hopes she decides what her style is… I go back to the days of the white winter coat and boots look.

Yes! Like this: http://www4.pictures.stylebistro.com/bg/Kate+Middleton+Outerwear+Wool+Coat+gpsi8r_RyxQx.jpg
Kate strikes me as a confident, strong, full woman at heart. These dainty, willowy looks are not for her.
I kind of blame these anemic Gen X mom fashion trends for her looks in recent years. But she needs to remember she’s effing Kate Middleton. She doesn’t have to follow fashion trends, she can set them. Heck, for the price of this Prada dress, she could’ve gone to a tailor and had one (or several) custom-made to exactly her style.!

Agree. She’s a stunning woman, but her outfits seem to weigh her down. The outfits lately look as if they are chosen for her and not by her. Perhaps that is the point.

I loved it, as usual she looks so much beautiful and I liked the dress, the flowers on it, I love them.. and also a great weather!

I respectfully dis agree with some previous negative comments. Kate looks fabulous in this dress. Yes, the dress is “dainty” as noted, and it looks great on her. It’s a classic style in a cheerful print, a conservative styled dress appropriate for a variety of occasions. Kate can get away with different looks – vintage, modern, elegant, edgy and yes, even conservative. Nothing wrong with different styles and looks at different times. Kate, you look wonderful as always.

What a beautiful garden. The white flowers are so uplifting. Love the fountain and pond effect.
I am sure both William and Harry were very moved by it as I was.

She is a georgeus woman and she has a great style. but dont you think that white gold earrings would looks much better? I mean green colour is perfect, but yellow gold for me doesn’t looks that pretty.
I recently was looks similar earrings for my self and found this one

She carries herself so well that she looks good no matter what she wears. But I agree about the earrings…could have nicer ones.
