On day six of the Commonwealth Games, Kate joined Princes William and Harry to watch some of the athletic events.
During the day, the royal trio visited the athlete’s village and met with some of the host nation’s medal winners. They also met famous Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. From Usain’s official Twitter account, @usainbolt:
At the athletes village, the three royals took part in the ‘three tins’ challenge, a South African game. From the Daily Mail:
[The game] involves knocking down three tins with a ball before running in to the middle of the square, rebuilding them and hopping over the tins three times. [Kate] cheered as she knocked the tins over and smiled after completing the task. Prince William later faced Harry in opposing teams in the same game.
Kate was a good sport, playing the game in her huge Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon wedges!
Later in the day, Kate travelled across the city to attend a reception hosted by sporting charity SportsAid. As you may recall, Kate is patron of the charity.
Kate met with aspiring athletes, decorated Olympians and sporting champions from the UK. Tennis star Laura Robson, who is the charity’s new ambassador for young sportswomen had plenty of praise for Duchess Kate. She commented:
“It is a massive help to have someone so high profile be part of such a great organisation. It’s great that she is involved and I look forward to doing more events like this in future.”
Team Wales captain Aled Davis met Kate for a second time today, he noted that her passion for sport is phenomenal:
“It’s great to have her as the Patron of SportsAid, and you can see how much she loves it.”
Kate’s outfit:
Kate ditched the jeans for today’s events, opting to re-wear her bright blue Stella McCartney Ridley Stretch Cady Dress.
She also wore her Smythe “Navy One Button” blazer in navy blue.
Kate wore her Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon wedges for the second day running.
Finally, Kate carried the Natasha bag from Emmy Shoes, it appears to be a new blue suede version of the bag that Kate’s had specially commissioned. (The brand are well known for this service – Kate and sister Pippa have a range of Natasha bags in several colours between them).
Kate accessorised her outfit with her Kiki McDonough Citrine Drop earrings.
Finally, she wore her gold ‘Woodland Collection’ charm necklace from Asprey.

Hi Evangelina, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Many of the older pages are outdated here. I try and update them periodically. It’s hard to find the time xxx
