On 25th December 2011, the newlywed Duchess of Cambridge spent her first traditional Christmas with William and the Royal Family.
That morning, Kate went for a walk around the grounds of the Sandringham Estate with other members of the British Royal Family. You can see Kate walking with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie in the photograph above.
Kate’s outfit:
Kate is pictured wearing the Reiss Angel Fit and Flare coat. The grey tailored coat is from the brand’s Autumn Winter 2010 collection:
Here’s how the coat was described by John Lewis, who once stocked the piece:
Reiss knee length, fit and flare style wool coat with a large wrap around collar and smart multi stitch detailing. Sleek, with clean lines and a block colour palette, the Angel coat is a key trend-worthy piece for winter.
Sadly, the Reiss Angel coat is no longer for sale, but you can shop for similar coats by the brand:
Christmas day saw a return of Kate’s Aquatalia Rumba boots. Here’s how retailer Neiman Marcus describe the boots:
A cushy rubber sole, sturdy stacked heel, and signature weatherproof construction make these Aquatalia stretch boots perfect for everyday wear.
These popular boots are still available to buy from many retailers, including Neiman Marcus, Zappos and Saks Fifth Ave.
Later in the day, Kate attended a service with the royals at St. Mary’s church. Kate was photographed on the traditional walk, which involves members of the royal family meeting well wishers and exchanging Christmas greetings, wearing a wine-coloured dress and matching hat.
Clarence House confirmed the coat is a creation by an “independent British designer”.
The bespoke coat features an elegant funnel neck and princess seaming.
Kate wore a pair of black suede platform pumps by Mascaró:
Jane Corbett designed Kate’s matching aubergine coloured hat.
On Christmas Day 2011, Kate debuted a new pair of earrings. They’re by Kiki McDonough. Kate’s earrings feature a Green Amethyst stone set in 18ct gold and surrounded by diamonds.
The earrings pictured (which are either the same as, or similar to Kate’s) currently retail for £2,600. Many people have speculated that the earrings could have been a Christmas gift from Prince William.

Here’s how Mulberry described the clutch bag on their site when it was on sale:
