On 9th June 2011, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended the ARK Gala as guests of honour.
The Ark Gala was William and Kate’s first official Royal engagement as a married couple.
About the Ark Gala:
Ark is an international charity that transforms children’s lives. Tickets cost £10,000 and the gala is held in an elaborate marquee on Perks’ Fields behind Kensington Palace. The annual gala dinner raised over £160 million for the Ark charity since 2002.
It’s certain to say that Kate stunned the crowds. She wore a blush pink dress by Jenny Packham.
Here’s a look at the shimmering pink dress from Jenny Packham’s website:
On her Facebook page, Jenny Packham said:
“The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Annual Ark Charity Gala tonight wearing an ethereal gown by Jenny Packham. The Duchess selected the pearlescent rose sequin gown with Swarovski crystal from the SS11 catwalk collection”.
Back in 2011, you could buy the dress from MyTheresa. It was available for £2,685 (approximately $3,900 USD) in the sale.
Here’s how MyTheresa described the gown back in 2011:
“Layered mesh inserts at neckline, shoulders and sleeves. Hidden side zipper with hook-and-bar top closure. Fully lined with mesh spaghetti-strap dress lining.”
