On Thursday 8th July, the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) attended the Wimbledon women’s semi-finals.
Before watching the match, Kate took part in a “meet and greet” with tournament officials and service personnel:
She spoke with some of the Ball Boys/Girls too:
She also met with Oracene Price, the mother of Serena and Venus Williams. Both Williams sisters played matches in the semi-finals.
She also spoke with Ivan Lendl, Andy Murray’s coach, apologising for not making any of his matches this year and passing on her good luck for the upcoming semi-final match:
Kate’s outfit:
Kate wore a bright yellow dress with contrasting white panels for the visit to Wimbledon.
It’s a bespoke version of Roksanda Illincic’s Ryedale dress from the company’s spring/summer 2014 collection:
You may recognise it, she wore it back in 2014 while in Sydney during the Australia tour.
Kate sported a new pair of shoes today:
They’re the Malory pump by Rupert Sanderson in nude kid leather.
Here’s how StyleBop described the shoes:
Detailed with a signature metallic gold painted inside heel detail, these pointy toe pumps from British designer Rupert Sanderson lend an elegant finish to endless ensembles – Nude leather, pointed toe – Stiletto high heel – Team with everything from simple sweaters and jeans to fancy cocktail dresses.
Unfortunately, the shoes aren’t available to buy on Rupert Sanderson’s website in the same nude colour, and they’re out of stock at StyleBop too.
Kate’s earrings are relatively new too (she first debuted them at the Art Fund event the day before).
They’re Soru Jewellery’s Baroque Pearl Earrings in gold. According to the company, Kate purchased the earrings from the Baar and Bass boutique in Chelsea.
Here’s how they’re described on Soru’s website:
18ct Yellow gold vermeil on sterling silver. Hand crafted with iridescent baroque pearls edged with multi faceted Swarovski crystals. Slight natural variances may occur between colours, shapes and sizes of the gemstones.
They cost £130 (roughly $170 at today’s exchange rate) per pair. Soru just added the earrings to their website, and they’re not ready to ship yet. But can join the waitlist if you’re interested.
Kate carried a new white bag –
It’s the Quincy bag by Victoria Beckham. It’s made from buffalo and calf leather.
It features two top handles, an adjustable strap, an internal zip and slip pocket, plus push stud fastening tab pulls on the side. The bag retailed for £1,277 on Boutique1.com. It’s sadly sold out in the white colour carried by Kate.
However, a range of different colours are still available at Selfridges, FarFetch, Net-A-Porter, Harvey Nichols and MyTheresa.
Kate chose her Ray Ban Wayfarer folding sunglasses for the tennis match.
Kate wore her Cartier Ballon Bleu watch too. She wears the 33mm size. The watch is currently on sale at at JomaShop.com for $3995 (approximately £3,090 GBP).
Special thank you to Michelle from Perth Fashion for help finding the bag & earrings in this post.
Janet Webb says
I love these nude Malory pumps but they’re almost identical to the L.K. Bennett Fern pumps she always wears. How can you distinguish one from the other in the pictures?
Carly Wood says
The Malory pumps have a golden heel inner, while the Fern has beige/nude.
Here’s where you can see the golden heel on the Malory.
I can’t remember where we saw the ‘gold’ heel on Kate (in a video, I think) but we must have somewhere – the consensus (in the Kate community on Twitter) is that she wore the Malory.
