This morning (20th May 2020) Kensington Palace released an unseen photograph of Kate through their social media accounts. In the picture, the Duchess could be seen balancing on top of two rocks, wearing gardening gloves and reaching for a potted plant. The photo was taken last year as Kate worked on the ‘Back To Nature Garden‘ she co-designed for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Here’s the full photo:
Kate co-designed and launched the Back To Nature Garden to inspire children, families and communities to enjoy the great outdoors. The garden built on Kate’s passion for the outdoors and the proven benefits nature has on both physical and mental health.
Described as a “woodland wilderness garden”, the garden featured a high platform treehouse and items for children to play on, including tree stumps and a hollow log. Kate showing the garden to her family last year:
The Duchess then went on to launch replica gardens at RHS Hampton and RHS Wisley later in the year.
The photograph marks one year since the launch of the project. The Palace also sent a message of support for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, which had to go online due to the Coronavirus pandemic:
Visit @The_RHS to join the virtual #ChelseaFlowerShow for practical gardening advice from world-leading designers and experts, all from the comfort of your own home.
Kate’s attended the Chelsea Flower Show numerous times since joining the Royal Family in 2011. Below, the Duchess pictured as a guest at the event in 2016 and in 2017.
Kate’s outfit:
Kate looked casual in a pair of jeans and dark coloured linen shirt. Her hair is pulled back off her face.
It looks like Kate’s linen blouse is from Zara. (Thank you @georgiesmum2 for sharing this on Twitter with me!) The piece features long sleeves that roll up and fasten at the elbow, a v-neckline and buttons down the front.
The Duchess also wore a pair of green Superga Cotu Classic 2750 plimsolls (or sneakers if you’re in the United States).
The canvas tennis shoe features a strong, breathable pure cotton upper with a vulcanised rubber sole. This khaki green colour is called ‘sherwood’ on Superga’s website.
Kate also owns them in white:
The shoes can be purchased in khaki green from a number of retailers, including Superga.co.uk, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and Johnlewis.com.
