What types of coats does Kate Middleton wear?
Kate's wardrobe is crammed full of coats, she'll always pick one to best suit the occasion. For her usual engagements in winter (think charity visits or to launch new initiatives), she'll wear smart wool coats over a dress. In the last two or three years, she has gravitated towards wearing longer and mid-length styles.
When she's representing the Queen or attending a high profile event with other Royal Family members (for example, attending a National Service at Westminster Abbey), she'll choose a formal coat or a coatdress. (A coat-dress hybrid made from a spring- or autumn-weight fabric. It's usually worn over a simple underdress.) She often chooses fit-and-flare designs that hit the knee.
For less formal engagements, perhaps meeting a group of school children at a museum or visiting university students, Kate will throw on a blazer. This will add a polished edge to her more casual ensemble, usually jeans and boots. She tends to opt for tailored silhouettes that nip her in at the waist but owns some boxier cuts too.
As a keen sportswoman, Kate regularly takes part in engagements with an athletic component or that revolve around outdoor activities. Over the last decade, she's turned her hand to mountain biking, hiking, hockey, tennis, sailing and abseiling! As you'd expect, she has the perfect coat for every occasion. She's amassed quite the collection of waterproof coats, sports jackets, puffer jackets, shooting vests and ski jackets.
Does Kate Middleton ever wear the same coat twice?
Yes, Kate often wears her coats more than once, especially recently. During the last few months, she's helped to promote William's Earthshot Prize initiative. Earthshot celebrates those who are trying to help our planet and as a result, Kate has started to dress more consciously. She'll often choose coats and jackets that are made from sustainable materials or she'll re-wear older pieces from her wardrobe.
