On the 27th of May 2021, the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) met with Mila at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. As you may remember, the two spoke on the phone last autumn after a photograph of Mila was chosen to feature in the Hold Still project.
During the phone call, which Kensington Palace released on YouTube, we heard Mila ask Kate to wear a pink dress when they finally got to meet. Kate delivered on that promise by wearing this stunning piece by ME+EM. It’s the British brand’s Colour Block Silk Shirt Dress in the sugar pink and bubblegum colourway.
Kate wore the pink dress again in 2023, to visit the Chelsea Flower Show.
About the pink dress:
Crafted from 100% silk, the pink shirt dress features a full-length sleeve, a slim fit across the arms and shoulders, a midi-length dipped hem, a button front and a removable belt (which Kate did remove, she replaced it with a different belt from Boden).
A pleated front panel runs from the collar to hem. ME+EM say this breaks up the paler pink base fabric for a smart modern contrast.
Buying Kate’s dress:
The pink dress costs: $695 USD / £450 GBP. (ME+EM ship worldwide but it’d take me forever to list every currency!)
It is currently out of stock in all sizes but ME+EM will restock in late July. You can sign up for an email notification on their site. (This might be worth doing anyway, as it is likely some sizes will be returned over the next few weeks).
Kate Middleton wearing ME+EM:
The pink dress isn’t the first item Kate’s worn from ME+EM. She owns one of their Breton striped tops in three different colourways: cobalt blue with white stripes, white with blue stripes and white with black stripes.
About ME+EM:
London-based ME+EM is a brand for modern women who want good quality clothing for an affordable price. The brand say flattering and functional clothing with “wear-forever appeal” are the three pillars of ME+EM.
