Camilla Elphick Lucia Slingback Pumps in Black

Kate Middleton owns Camilla Elphick‘s Lucia slingback pumps in black—a pointed-toe kitten heel finished with the label’s signature pearl buckle.

The Princess debuted the black pair during her visit to Evelina London Children’s Hospital in July 2026, pairing them with her white Suzannah dress and a slim black belt.

She clearly rates the style: the Princess of Wales also owns the Lucia in tan, which she debuted at a charity polo match in July 2023 and brought back for the Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Final in 2024.

About the shoes:

The Lucia is a slingback pump with a patent pointed toe in a contrasting finish, set on an angular kitten heel—a sculptural, geometric take on the classic shape. The slingback strap fastens with Camilla Elphick’s signature pearl buckle, the detail the label is best known for.

Camilla Elphick described the Lucia as the sister style to her bestselling Alicia flat—elegant, leg-lengthening and designed as a go-to shoe for events. The shoes were handmade in Portugal by family-run factories in Porto and Lisbon, and retailed at £270.

The kitten heel makes them a practical choice for a working royal—smart enough for an official engagement, but comfortable for a day spent on her feet.

Where to buy:

Sadly, you can’t buy the Lucia slingbacks new any more.

Camilla Elphick Limited entered liquidation in 2025 after production difficulties.

If you love the style, you might be able to find them pre-loved:

Kate Middleton and Camilla Elphick:

The black Lucias are the third Camilla Elphick shoe we’ve catalogued in Kate’s wardrobe, alongside the tan pair and her Alicia slingback flats in taupe, which she’s worn on several occasions since 2022. She also owns a belt from the company.

About Camilla Elphick:

Camilla Elphick founded her eponymous footwear brand in London in 2014 after training at the prestigious Cordwainers at London College of Fashion and at Parsons in New York. She honed her craft working under some of footwear’s biggest names—Nicholas Kirkwood, Charlotte Olympia, Sophia Webster and Paul Andrew.

The label built a cult following for its playful, feminine designs with what the designer called “a feminine edge and British charm”—pearl buckles, sculptural heels and statement details.

The company ceased trading in 2025.
