Kate Middleton owns Suzannah‘s white Flippy Wiggle dress—a vintage-inspired silk shirt dress with contrasting black buttons.

The Princess debuted the piece at Wimbledon in July 2019 and has worn it on five public occasions to date, most recently to visit Evelina London Children’s Hospital (July 2026).
Between those two outings, the Princess of Wales wore the dress while volunteering at a baby bank in August 2020, during the Grenfell Tower memorial service in June 2022, and for a pub visit in Soho ahead of the Coronation weekend in May 2023.

The Princess has restyled the piece across the seven years—swapping belts and shoes each time.
About the dress:
The Flippy Wiggle is Suzannah’s reworking of a late-1940s “wiggle” dress from the label’s own vintage archive. The brand re-cut the silhouette so it skims over the bodice, with a soft, fluid movement through the tea-length skirt—the “flippy” part of the name.

The dress features half-length sleeves with buttoned cuffs, and delicate pin-tuck detailing contours the waist and front yoke. Contrasting silk-covered buttons in black run down the centre front, working from a double-breasted arrangement on the bodice into a single-breasted line down the skirt.

It’s crafted from pure Italian silk crepe and fully lined in lightweight silk habotai, so it’s airy and swishy to wear.
The dress comes with a detachable leather-backed silk crepe belt in matching white, though Kate tends to style it with belts from elsewhere in her wardrobe—for the Evelina London visit, she added a slim black one.
Where to buy:
The white Flippy Wiggle dress remains available directly from Suzannah, priced at £2,790, in UK sizes 6 to 18. At the time of writing, several sizes are down to their last piece, so don’t dally if it’s on your wishlist.
Suzannah prices in pounds sterling and ships worldwide, including to the US.
Kate also owns the same dress in emerald green. This This colourway is still available to buy too.
Kate Middleton and Suzannah:
I wouldn’t call Suzannah one of Kate’s go-to labels, but she has returned to the brand repeatedly over the years.
Beyond the two Flippy Wiggle dresses, her wardrobe includes further dresses and coats from the label, among them the magnificent Prince of Wales check coat she debuted at the Archbishop of Canterbury’s installation in early 2026.
The Flippy Wiggle remains her most-worn Suzannah piece, with five outings across seven years.
About Suzannah:
Suzannah London is a luxury British womenswear brand founded by designer Suzannah Crabb in 2006. Operating from a boutique on New Quebec Street in Marylebone, the label specialises in beautifully crafted ready-to-wear alongside made-to-order and bespoke pieces created in its nearby atelier.
Many of Suzannah’s designs are reinterpretations of pieces from the brand’s own vintage archive—the Flippy Wiggle among them. The company places sustainability at the heart of its work, favouring natural fibres and timeless designs intended to be kept for good rather than for a season.
