Kate Middleton owns an ivory-coloured clutch bag by Anya Hindmarch—the designer’s much-loved ‘Maud’ style in ivory.

She first carried the bag during the 2022 royal visit to Jamaica, and has reached for it on four occasions in total—most recently at Royal Ascot 2026.
About the bag:
The Maud is a vintage-inspired frame clutch that has a ’50s evening-bag aesthetic. A slim gold metal frame supports the soft pouch. The elegant bag is finished with a kiss-lock closure.
It’s made from recycled ivory satin and features faux pearls on the clasp.

Inside, the bag is lined in Anya Hindmarch’s signature suede. Each bag comes with a detachable chain strap so it can also be worn across the body or on the shoulder.
The deceptively roomy bag is large enough to hold the essentials for an evening, including a phone.
The Maud is one of Anya Hindmarch’s hero designs, handmade in London. It’s offered both off-the-shelf and as a bespoke piece; the bespoke version can be personalised with a hand-embroidered monogram and a hidden embossed message inside.

Where to buy Kate’s Anya Hindmarch clutch:
The good news is that this is one royal piece you can still buy. Anya Hindmarch continues to stock the ivory pearl Maud, with an RRP of £475.
The Maud also comes in a wide range of other colours and finishes—including a gold tassel-clasp version and seasonal limited-edition fabrics—so there’s plenty of choice if ivory isn’t your shade.
Kate Middleton and Anya Hindmarch:
Kate is a long-standing fan of Anya Hindmarch. By my count, she owns five pieces by the label.
Her most famous Hindmarch moment came in 2011, when she stepped out to meet the Obamas carrying the Maud in black satin—personalised with a cursive ‘C’ for Catherine. She still owns that black version today.
It’s a brand with royal heritage, too: the late Princess Diana was also fond of Hindmarch’s satin and envelope clutches.
About Anya Hindmarch:
Anya Hindmarch is a British accessories label founded in 1987 by Dame Anya Hindmarch, who launched her first bag at just 19. The brand is London-based and known for combining impeccable craftsmanship with a playful sense of humour.
She was famously ahead of the curve on sustainability, launching the now-iconic ‘I’m Not A Plastic Bag’ tote in 2007—a piece that became a global talking point and helped kick-start the national conversation around single-use plastic. That conscious ethos continues in pieces like the recycled-satin Maud.
Earlier this year, Queen Camilla granted Anya Hindmarch its first Royal Warrant, in recognition of the company’s long-standing commitment to craftsmanship, quality and sustainability.
