On Wednesday 17th October 2018, William and Kate hosted a reception at Kensington Palace for the finalists of the BBC Radio 1 Teen Hero Award. The couple met the teen hero winners and nominees. They also met with Radio 1 DJs Greg James and Clara Amfo.
The Teen Hero finalists were celebrated for their outstanding dedication to others. The three winners, Lily, Siena and Junior, will be awarded prizes at the Teen Awards this weekend.
Lily is a wheelchair motocross competitor and advocate. Siena works to support students with autism and learning disabilities and Junior is a dancer who campaigns against bullying. The three teens are aged between 14-16. The three Heroes will be awarded prizes at this weekend’s Teen Awards.
This isn’t the first time William and Kate have hosted a reception for Teen Hero nominees. The couple met with finalists in 2016 too.
For the reception, Kate wore a burgundy coloured dress by Whistles.
It’s the British company’s Margot Spot Shirt Dress. The midi-length shirt dress has a collar neckline, buttons down the front and a tie waist. The long sleeves give the dress a demure appearance.
Kate paired the dress with her gold Cassandra Goad Temple of Heaven earrings, which are made from 9ct yellow gold. The earrings retail for £1,725. The design takes inspiration from a temple built by The Ming Dynasty in 1530.
Finally, it looks like the Duchess paired the dress with her nude-coloured Gianvito Rossi pumps. The Duchess appears to favour the shoe, owning it in a variety of heel height and colour options.
