Kate wears Michael Kors to drop Princess Charlotte off at school

On the 5th September 2019, Princess Charlotte joined the reception class Thomas’s Battersea.  It was her first day at school.

That morning, the proud parents accompanied the four-year-old into the playground. They were joined by Charlotte’s brother George who is also a pupil at the private London-based day school.  He joined back in 2017.

In the playground, the family met with the head of lower school, Helen Haslem.  Kate gently encouraged coy Charlotte to greet the teacher by shaking her hand.

Kate, who looked lovely in a pink MICHAEL Michael Kors dress, made small talk with Ms Haslem, asking if she’d had a good summer.  Prince William commented that his daughter was “very excited” about her first day at school.  Charlotte soon relaxed as she accompanied the teacher into the building.

For those asking, Ms Haslem wore the navy blue polka dot ‘Avery‘ dress by L.K. Bennett.  At the time of writing, it is currently in stock at John Lewis and Next.   Royal fashion fans will also be interested to learn that Princess Sophia has also worn this piece!

She also wore the nude ‘Skyla‘ pumps by the same company.  The Skyla pumps are from an older collection, but you can find a similar pair here if you’d like to complete the look.  Of course, L.K. Bennett is a brand we’ve seen Kate wear many times over the years. 

You may remember Prince George meeting Ms Halem with his father back in 2017? (Kate, who was suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, was too ill to attend at the time unfortunately).  Ms Haslem also sported an L.K. Bennett dress on that occasion too!

Those with a keen eye will have spotted Charlotte’s sparkly keyring.  The young princess added a sequinned unicorn head to her Thomas’s branded book-bag.

Later in the day, William and Kate shared this photograph of Prince George and Princess Charlotte standing together on the steps at Kensington Palace.   The photo was taken by Kate shortly before the family left for school.

A repeat outfit for Kate today!  Remember the red, pink and blue floral print dress from last year?  The Duchess wore it to Harry and Megan’s wedding rehearsal back in May 2018.  It’s by MICHAEL Michael Kors (the American designer’s diffusion line).

The dress features a mid-length skirt, a v-neckline, buttons on the front and softly gathered sleeves.  It also comes with a black leather belt.

The dress is from an older collection.  Unfortunately, it’s no longer available to buy.  However, MICHAEL Michael Kors stocks the same dress in two other prints if you’re looking to copy Kate’s style.  The first is a red, pink and black ‘woodland‘ leaf print design and the second is a navy and red ‘geometric‘ print:

With the multicoloured dress, the Duchess wore a pair of navy pointed suede heels.  They are by Prada.

Finally, Kate added a little sparkle to her ensemble with a pair of Asprey London earrings.  They’re the Oak Leaf Small Hoop style.  The 18ct yellow gold earrings feature pave diamonds, designed to look like intertwined oak leaves.
