23rd of March 2022—William and Kate continued their tour of Jamaica with a visit to Trench Town, Kingston. The Duchess wore a colourful sundress, thought to be an upcycled vintage piece from the 1950s. (All outfit details can be found further down the page ⬇)
Trench Town is a neighbourhood in Kingston. It’s regarded as the birthplace of reggaeand was home to music legend Bob Marley.
Bustling crowds awaited the couple upon their arrival. Sky News said the visit was probably a nightmare for William and Kate’s security team and noted that “the couple looked in their element in the chaos of it all”.
The first engagement took place on a football pitch, William and Kate spoke to Premier League star Raheem Sterling who was born in Jamaica. He had travelled to Trench Town and met the couple to promote his foundation, which helps disadvantaged youth in both Jamaica and the UK.
Prince William, who is President of the Football Association, had a kickabout with Sterling:
The pair also met Jamaica’s bobsleigh team and, of course, had to chat about Cool Runnings, The iconic 90s film that follows a group of Jamaican athletes who want to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics.
The couple also visited Trench Town & Culture Yard Museum which is owned and operated by neighborhood residents. Here’s how the museum is described on its website:
Displays of artifacts, live music and conversation with Trench Town residents, and a bright mural await your inquiry. An authentic and unassuming vibe let’s you experience West Kingston as it was and is, present day.
Here, William and Kate played the drums with local musicians.

Let’s look at Kate’s colourful dress and accessories now.
Kate Middleton’s sundress & accessories in Trench Town, Jamaica:
Kate wore a striped sundress in bold shades of teal blue, yellow and red. It looks like it’s a vintage piece that’s been modified. Heaven found the dress shown above on the Willow Hilson Vintage website for £369.
Willow Hilson Vintage is a boutique in Cheltenham UK. The company have reposted images of Kate wearing the dress on their Instagram stories with the caption “a dream come true”, so I think the ID is spot on.
It looks like Kate’s team purchased the dress, had the spaghetti straps removed and used the wrap to create a different neckline.
The Duchess paired her colourful striped summer dress with a pair of slingback court shoes made from raffia. They’re the Impulse style from Russell and Bromley. (Thanks to Inomminate for the ID)
The Italian-made shoes are lined with leather and feature a contemporary block heel. They retail on R&B’s website for £195 GBP. All sizes remain in stock at the time of writing.
Kate re-wore her pearl drop and gold hoop earrings from the Denmark tour. They’re the Cha-Cha earrings by Copenhagen-based designer Maria Black.
The earrings feature a mother-of-pearl bead hanging from a sterling silver huggie hoop earrings plated in 22-karat gold. At the time of writing, you can buy one single earring from the designer’s website for £152 GBP / $188 USD. (You’ll need to buy two earrings if you want to wear a pair.)
Kate finished her outfit with a gold bangle from Jamaican jeweller Lashawndla Bailey-Miller.
The piece is known as the “She’s Royal” cuff. It is made from highly polished stainless steel and plated in 18k gold. You can have the bracelet inscribed with a message of your choice. It looks like Kate purchased hers without the inscription.
