The two-minute video shows Kate on a walk near the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District with a group of Scouts.

The group were working towards their Naturalist Badge, which involves spending at least one day in a natural location, such as woodland or moorland, investigating the wildlife and plants.
The visit, which took place last month, saw the Princess join Chief Scout Dwayne Fields for a chat about the power of nature in supporting wellbeing, connection, and confidence.

The Scouts were aged between 10 – 15 from groups in Cumbria and Greater Manchester.
In the video, Kate talks about her own relationship with nature, describing it as “very spiritual”.

She speaks of an “intense emotional reconnection” when spending time outdoors. “
Not everyone has that same relationship perhaps with nature,” the Princess says,“but it is so therefore meaningful for me as a place to balance and find a sort of sense of peace and reconnection in what is otherwise a very busy world.”

Kate spoke with Dwayne about how spending time in nature can help young people develop vital life skills — from resilience and leadership to empathy and teamwork.
“They learn leadership skills, spend time making friends, and those life-long really great memories that we all hold onto,” Dwayne says in the film. “And I think if we can do that, we’ll build up a generation who is passionate about our natural spaces and passionate about protecting them as well.”

The Scouts regularly enables more than 450,000 young people to experience the benefits of outdoor adventure.

Activities like camping, canoeing and climbing help build confidence and provide a break from the digital world.
The Princess has been Joint President of the Scouts since 2020. The visit marked her first engagement with Dwayne Fields, who took over the Chief Scout role from Bear Grylls in September 2024.

I know many of you will be interested in Kate’s casual, outdoorsy outfit—this style is always very popular with my readers. So, let’s take a look:
Kate’s Outfit
For her surprise visit to the Lake District, the Princess dressed for the outdoors in pieces from some of her favourite countrywear brands. Most pieces are old favourites, but one item is new.

Let’s start with her olive green bomber jacket. It’s by Bella Hoskyns.

If you recognise but can’t place the jacket, it’s because she debuted it in the now-infamous Mother’s Day photo shared last year. You can just make it out:

The olive green jacket features a Nehru collar and a hidden zip with metallic press stud closures at the top and bottom.
The designer says the coat is windproof, weather-resistant, lightweight and easy to wear. It is quilted inside and features ribbed cuffs.

The jacket remains available in stock if you’re seeking a versatile piece for your own wardrobe. It retails for £385.
Underneath, the Princess layered a chunky knit roll-neck sweater by Emilia Wickstead. The piece is new (to us, Kate might have worn it numerous times!). Thank you very much to Danielle, via Middleton Maven, for the ID:

It’s the designer’s ‘Otis Melange Cashfeel Cable Knit Sweater‘ in the colour ‘sand.’
The sweater is richly textured with its elaborate cable knit design that runs down the front into a deep V-shaped pattern. The garment also features ribbed detailing through the neck and voluminous sleeves.

The luxury knit retails for £610. And despite the hefty price tag, it sold out within hours of the film debut. You can register your interest on the Emilia Wickstead website for details of a restock.
Let’s move on to look at the Princess’s trousers now—many of you will recognise these as the G-Star Raw skinny cargo pants in khaki.

The Princess has worn them twice before, debuting them during a visit to Belize in 2022. She wore them again during an engagement with the Irish Guards in 2023.

The trousers feature a high waistline and a skinny fit on the leg. G-Star say they’re cleverly designed with a shaped waistband to eliminate gaps for a better fit.
Each pair is finished with deep pockets on the thigh, as well as additional inset front pockets and a single zipper pocket at the back.
Crafted from G-Star’s Bracket Superstretch Twill, a stretch woven cotton-elastane fabric mix that offers added ease of movement, the trousers are both comfortable and stretchy.
G-Star are dedicated to sustainable manufacturing, which I think draws the Princess to the brand. In recent years, we’ve noticed Kate gravitate towards slow fashion brands. Today, a lot of her pieces are from environmentally conscious companies and collections.
G-Star also openly provide the names and locations of the factories that manufacture their products for transparency and accountability, plus they commit to paying their workers fairly throughout the supply chain.
I think it’s fantastic that Kate uses her influence as a fashion icon to support companies with good ethical practices.
After a pair of the trousers? You’re in luck. G-Star still stock them today. They’re available in multiple sizes, colours and lengths. (including the exact style worn by the Princess). They’re currently 50% off too. See them here.
Kate also owns the trousers in ‘raven’ too.
On her feet, the Princess wore her Berghaus Supalite II GTX boots – she often wears these for outdoor engagements. She wore them on six prior public engagements between 2019 and 2023.

The boots are made from a single piece of soft yet strong water-resistant leather. They’re designed to be lightweight and comfortable, and treated with GORE-TEX performance technology to keep water out of the shoe.
The boots also feature a steady tread and outsole, plus a breathable, cushioned memory foam footbed. Berghaus described the boots as perfect for everything from coastal walks to hill hikes.
At the time of writing, they’re unavailable on Berghaus’s website, but they do say more stock will be available soon, so it’ll be worth checking back periodically.
Kate finished her look with a touch of traditional countryside flair, a tweed ‘baker boy’ style cap:

We’re not certain on the ID as yet.
Middleton Maven found this hat on the House of Bruar website, which looks like a close match to the one worn by the Princess. She has written to the company to see if they can confirm the ID.

Another theory is that she could be wearing the ‘Lindsey’ hat from Really Wild Clothing.
Twelve years ago, Really Wild confirmed Kate wore their Lindsey hat to another engagement with the Scouts. The two hats are very similar, just different colours.
This is the only stock image I can find by Really Wild, of the Lindsey hat in a colourway called ‘Ivy Fleck.’.

I’ll update if we get confirmation either way!
Let’s look at Kate’s earrings now. You can see in the images that she’s wearing gold hoops. Susan from What Kate Wore thinks the Princess wore her Spells of Love Twisted Hoop Earrings (£60) in the video. I think she’s right!

The earrings feature a twisted design, crafted from sterling silver with 18K gold vermeil.
We’ve spotted the Princess wearing the earrings on multiple occasions since 2022, they’re fast becoming a staple in her jewellery collection.
That’s all for now. I’ll be back Easter Sunday to cover the Wales family at Windsor Castle. (I’m assuming they will attend this year.)
