In February 2021, Kate held a video chat with families supported by two charities, Asthma UK and Diabetes UK. For the Zoom call, she debuted a new pair of pearl hoop earrings. She paired the earrings with her Green Smythe blazer and a bodysuit shirt by Holland Cooper.
A few days later, the BBC broadcast a television programme called A Celebration for Commonwealth Day. In the show, William and Kate spoke with medical, charity and voluntary staff from across the Commonwealth. Kate wore the earrings again, this time with a blue dress by Emilia Wickstead.
The The Telegraph reports that the earrings are from Mejuri, a fine jewellery company based in Canada.
Important note: The Telegraph article seems pretty definitive about the ID but does not state that a representative from Mejuri confirmed Kate purchased the earrings. A few Kate fans think somebody somewhere is mistaken and question the ID. They think Kate’s earrings look bigger than the Mejuri pair. I will try and find out more information and then update this page accordingly.
About the pearl hoop earrings:
The handcrafted earrings feature cultured freshwater pearls, carefully selected from oysters and freshwater mussels. They’re stacked on a gold vermeil hoop, crafted from sterling silver coated in thick 18ct gold.
Do it like a Parisienne with pearl hoops that’ll make you fall in love.
