Kate Middleton owns Fjällräven’s Lappland Hike 15 daypack in dark olive—a compact, hard-wearing hiking backpack from the Swedish outdoor brand.

The Princess debuted the daypack during the National Three Peaks Challenge in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity—carrying her essentials up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon—and it appeared again in the family photos released a week later.
About the daypack:
The Lappland Hike 15 is a 15-litre daypack designed for trekking and hunting, with a deliberately slim profile that allows freedom of movement.
The standout feature is the back plate, made from pressed discarded wool—a functional, sustainable alternative to the petroleum-based foams most backpacks use, and part of the carrying system’s temperature regulation.
The pack is made from hard-wearing, water-resistant fabric, with padded shoulder straps that clasp across the front, a practical pocket layout, and an included rain cover. It’s the sort of considered, no-gimmicks design Fjällräven has built its reputation on—buyers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on the brand’s own site.
In dark olive, it’s about as understated as a backpack gets—very much in step with the muted, tonal palette of Kate’s Three Peaks kit.
Where to buy:
The Lappland Hike 15 retails for £195:
At the time of writing, the bag isn’t listed on Fjällräven’s US site.
Kate Middleton and Fjällräven:
Fjällräven is one of the Princess’s go-to labels for outdoor life. Her collection includes at least two of the brand’s sweaters—one green, one with a festive Nordic print—a light hooded jacket and a padded hunting gilet, and the Three Peaks Challenge added two more pieces to the list, including the Est. 1960 cap in dark navy and this daypack.
About Fjällräven:
Fjällräven—Swedish for “Arctic fox,” which explains the logo—was founded in 1960 by Åke Nordin in Örnsköldsvik, northern Sweden, having started life in his basement with a homemade framed backpack.
Backpacks remain the heart of the brand: the Kånken is a genuine design icon, and the trekking range continues the original mission.
The brand is known for its G-1000 fabric, Greenland Wax, and a strong sustainability focus, with an emphasis on durable, repairable gear.
More than sixty years on, its founding goal remains the same: getting more people outdoors.
