Monday, March 8th 2021—To mark International Women’s Day, the Palace shared a video of Kate speaking with world record-breaking rower Jasmine Harrison.
In February 2021, 21-year-old Jasmine completed the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge and become the youngest female to row solo across any ocean.
Harrison completed the record-breaking 3,000-mile row on Feb. 20, representing team RudderlyMad to raise money for ShelterBox and the Blue Marine Foundation. The journey took her 70 days, three hours and 48 minutes.

During the video call, Kate told Jasmine that she’s an inspiration to young women and that she couldn’t get her “head around 70 days at sea”. The pair also talked about mental health and Kate asked Jasmine about her training process.
On the call the pair discussed how celebrating and elevating awareness of this achievement can work to challenge perceptions around what women are capable of, in addition to providing the motivation to pursue ambitious goals.

Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans spotted a previously unseen photograph on the sideboard behind Kate:
The unseen photo shows the three Cambridge siblings sat in a row, with Prince George (who will one day be king) sat in the centre, with his arm around little Louis. Charlotte appears on the right-hand side of her two brothers and although it’s not immediately clear when the snap was taken, it may be from George’s seventh birthday last July, based on the top he is wearing.

Kate’s outfit:
For the video call, the Duchess wore a pretty pink blouse from Boden. It features a tie-neck detail (sometimes known as a pussybow). It’s the Dora Tie Neck Blouse in the colour Azalea.
It’s printed with a white ‘splash’ motif and features full sleeves that gather into the cuff. Boden say the blouse is semi-fitting for a flattering silhouette.
The blouse is now sold out, thanks to the Kate effect (though is being resold on eBay). Boden produced the piece in two other colours, Grey Squirrel (below left) and Ivory Floral Paisley (below right). The Ivory Floral Paisley version remains available to buy at Boden UK, Boden USA, John Lewis and Nordstrom at the time of writing (13th of March 2021).
Kate is no stranger to Boden. Her work wardrobe features several items of clothing from the popular British brand. The company is a staple for “yummy mummies” who appreciate flattering fits, cheery colours and bold prints. Boden overhauled its range a few years ago, consciously moving away from its former ‘frumpy’ image in order to appeal to more style-savvy women. It must have worked. Kate has since worn a number of items, including a top, a couple of dresses, a cardigan and a coat.
The Duchess accessorised her blouse with pink and gold earrings from another British brand, Missoma. They’re the company’s Rhodochrosite Gold Mini Pyramid Charm Hoop Earrings.
The Duchess first debuted the gemstone earrings in 2020, during an engagement in London, speaking to people affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The attractive earrings feature a hand-cut Rhodochrosite gemstone suspended from an 18ct Gold Vermeil on Sterling Silver hoop. The gold vermeil surrounding the gemstone has a rough, organic texture while a repeating pyramid pattern decorates the hoops.
At the time of writing, (13th March 2021), the earrings are out of stock at Missoma.com (£85 GBP / $110 USD). The company have previously restocked the earrings, so they might again. Missoma ship their jewellery worldwide for free. Planning to buy the earrings? Here’s a tip to get 10% off! Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter your email address in the box. You’ll be sent a discount code. It only works if it’s your first order with the company though.
