We have an update from Kate!
The Princess of Wales released a statement about her health on Friday evening. In a personal note uploaded to social media, Kate explained that she’s “making good progress” but is “not out of the woods yet”.
The Princess said that she has “good days and bad days”, and will continue with her cancer treatment over the next few months.
Kate has remained out of the public eye since undergoing abdominal surgery back in January. In March, it was revealed that doctors had found cancer during tests following her operation, and she had been advised to take a course of ‘preventative chemotherapy’.
In the update, Kate thanked the public for their support following her diagnosis and confirmed that she will attend Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
The event, also known as The King’s Birthday Parade, marks the Princess’s first public engagement of the year.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson has confirmed that King Charles is “delighted” that The Princess is able to attend Trooping the Colour, and “is very much looking forward to all elements of the day”.
According to palace sources, Charles and Kate have grown closer in recent months. The pair spent time in hospital together earlier this year following the Princess’s surgery and Charles’s own cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In a statement released back in March, Charles referred to Kate as his “beloved daughter-in-law”.
The Princess’s appearance at this weekend’s event does not signal her full-time return to public duties. However, Kate confirmed she will join a few engagements over the summer if she continues to feel well.
Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer shared that Kate will take part in both the traditional carriage procession and appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony at today’s Trooping the Colour parade.
He also shares that palace sources confirm the Princess is “not expected” to attend next week’s Royal Ascot or Garter Day events.
In the statement, Kate explained that when she feels well, she is “starting to do a little work from home”, “engage with school life” and “spend personal time on the things that give [her] energy and positivity.”
“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.”
Kate concluded the statement by thanking the public for bravely sharing their stories with her over the last few months.
A new photograph of the Princess accompanied the statement, taken by award-winning Royal Photographer, Matt Porteous.
The picture shows Kate standing underneath a willow tree, wearing her beige pinstriped blazer by Blazé Milano.
You might recall the Princess first wore the garment at the Royal Air Force Air Tattoo in July last year.
Kate wore the smart beige jacket to tour aircraft with her children and meet with a group of Air Cadets. The garment features a double-breasted front and is finished with attractive brown knotted buttons.
In the new photo, Kate paired the blazer with inky blue jeans and white sneakers. She wore her long brown hair down with a curl.
Her Annoushka Ducas pearl earrings completed the chic ensemble.

It will be nice to see the Wales family. I must admit, I love seeing the exuberant Prince Louis.

So very, very glad that Catherine is feeling well enough to join in this years’s Trooping. I am most interested in seeing her face – especially her beautiful smile. I hope to see a relaxed Catherine enjoying herself with her swiftly growing children. Somewhat interested in her outfit, but more in her overall appearance. And of course since we have not seen these four – Catherine, George, Charlotte and Louis for such a long time I eagerly await to see their interactions with each other and their mother, the Princess of Wales.

Very happy to know Princess Catherine, Prince William, and Three young princes/& princes in this year’s Trooping.
That she and King Charles are doing well. Incl Prince William is also doing well, being strong loving support for Catherine, George, Charlotte, Louie, and King Charles’ wellbeing, and Royal duties/responsibilities.
Princess Catherine and King Charles need to continue prioritizing Their Health and Wellbeing, for themselves and their family. Not listen to negative comments, or fear or worry. God has her/them in His hand. He is taking care of you…just do your part.
Much Love and prayers for Princess Catherine, Prince William, George, Charlotte, Louie, King Charles, and the supporting Royal family.
