William and Kate made their debut at Wimbledon this afternoon (July 5th 2022). The Duchess watched the tennis wearing an azure blue polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich.
The Duke and Duchess took to the Royal Box on Centre Court to watch Novak Djokovic play Jannik Sinner in the men’s quarter finals.
Later, the pair showed support for fellow Brit Cameron Norrie, the only team GB singles player left in the tournament.
The Duchess is Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC). (Which is why she’s wearing the club’s purple and green ribbon pinned to her dress, shown above.)
Let’s take a look at Kate’s outfit now.
Kate’s outfit:
As I explained in the opening paragraph of this article, Kate wore an azure blue polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich. Does the garment feel familiar?
That’s because Kate wore it one month prior to her Wimbedon appearance (in June 2022). She chose the blue polka dot dress for the Platinum Jubilee Big Lunch.
The azure blue dress is made from silk crepe de chine, features pleated detailing on the bodice, gathered sleeves, shoulder pads and a waist belt.
As you can see from the image above, there are a few notable differences between the ready-to-wear dress sold by Alessandra Rich and the design Kate wore. Namely the crystal embellishments on the shoulder and belt—Kate had both replaced with plain blue fabric.
Those wanting to buy the blue dress will be disappointed. Unfortunately, it’s sold out. If you’re into Alessandra Rich’s modern take on 80s style, you can check out the rest of her line at Net-A-Porter. Otherwise, I have a few picks for you below:

Let’s look at the white handbag carried by Kate at Wimbledon now. It’s the white Mulberry Amberley Crossbody:
The sleek bag features a flap-over front, top handle, detachable crossbody chain and tonal hardware. You’ll notice the Amberley is finished with Mulberry’s Geometric Rider’s Lock.
Unfortunately, Mulberry no longer sell the Amberley Crossbody. However, there is a white satchel in the Amberley family this season if you’re looking for something similar:
Mulberry Amberley Satchel in White
Unfortunately, Mulberry no longer stock the Amberley Crossbody bag. Try their satchel from the same family instead. The white bag includes the company’s iconic rider’s lock on the front.
Kate brought back her In2Design Pearl Drop Earrings for the afternoon’s tennis matches.
The earrings feature two baroque pearl gemstone drops suspended from a gold fill wire. Each pair is unique—hence the slight difference in shape.
In2Design is a Swedish company—Kate first debuted the earrings during a visit to the country in 2019. She’s worn the earrings a handful of times since—mostly to Wimbledon.
We also saw the return of Kate’s Finlay & Co Henrietta Sunglasses.
The Duchess debuted the sunglasses during the Caribbean Tour earlier in 2022.
The Henrietta sunglasses feature a sophisticated cat-eye shape with square, upswept corners. The sunglasses retail for £150 come in a seven other colours. Shop them here.
Finally, It looks like Kate wore a pair of Alessandra Rich ‘Fab’ slingback pumps in white/black. Unfortunately, I cannot licence the photo to show you Kate wearing the shoes at Wimbledon. Click here to see her wearing them in a new tab.
Kate owns the slingbacks in tan/black already. She wore them to the Grenfell Tower Memorial Service recently (pictured below).
The white leather slingbacks feature a sharply pointed toe—rendered in black leather for contrast. The Italian-made shoes fasten with a buckle. You can buy the shoes at MyTheresa.com for £540 / $745.
Note: The pair listed at MyTheresa are not identical to the pair worn by Kate. They have a black sole and black heel caps. Kate’s shoes are beige/taupe underneath. I’m pretty certain they’re by Alessandra Rich though—I can just make out the logo on this photo. Plus, they’re pretty identical to the pair she owns in tan—which have a beige/taupe sole/heel too. I guess the underneath of the shoe might have changed between seasons? Or Kate ordered a custom pair, without the black sole?
