Here’s a little bit of information about the Art Fund prize:
The Art Fund Museum of the Year prize is awarded annually to one outstanding museum which has shown exceptional imagination, innovation and achievement in the preceding year. The prize of £100,000 is presented each year at an awards dinner attended by some of the UK’s leading figures in the arts and culture sector.

Kate met with representatives from the five museums in the running for the award.
A number of artists attended the dinner, including Grayson Perry, Cornelia Parker and Antony Gormley.
The dinner took place in the Natural History Museum’s Hintze Hall, where the famous “Dippy” dinosaur skeleton is located. Here’s a look at staff setting up the tables ahead of the event:
Kate’s outfit:
A new designer for Kate this evening! She chose an off-shoulder dress from Brazilian born designer Barbara Casasola.
It’s the Tribal Dress from the company’s SS16 collection, according to Barbara Casasola’s Instagram account.
Net-A-Porter sold the dress for $1,105 (approximately £855 at today’s exchange rate) before selling out this evening. Here’s how they described the piece:
Part of the designer’s minimalist Spring ’16 runway collection, Barbara Casasola’s midi dress is cut from figure-sculpting stretch-jersey and paneled with sheer mesh inserts for a sporty feel. This off-the-shoulder piece flares out from the thigh to create a flattering, feminine silhouette.
Kate debuted a new brand of shoes this evening too. She chose the “Dollie” sandals from Schutz.
The shoes feature two crisscross straps at the front and a slim wraparound ankle strap. They’re made from smooth nubuck leather in a lovely peachy pink colour.
The shoes were available in the peach colour at The Outnet for £85 and ShopBop for $90 (both 50% off the original full price). However, the shoe is now sold out in both online stores.
Other retailers stock the Dollie shoe in different colours:
- Oyster at the Outnet US – $90
- Oyster at the Outnet Global – £85
- Oyster at Shopbop – £98.02 / $126
- Oyster at Amazon – $126
- Oyster at Heels – $179.99
- Black at Heels – $179.99
Schultz was founded in the summer of 1995. The company is based in Brazil and specialises in bold, edgy designs. The company’s motto is “Living for Pleasure”.
We’ve seen Kate’s pretty, sparkly clutch bag before. It’s currently unidentified. The working theory is that it’s vintage, like one of her other beaded clutch bags.
Earrings – currently unknown, more updates later.
