The Princess of Wales has shared a deeply personal message ahead of World Cancer Day, accompanied by two striking photographs—one of which was taken by six-year-old Prince Louis.
In the post, shared via the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official social media account, Kate urged people to “nurture all that which lies beyond the disease,” signing the message with her initial, “C.”
A Message for World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day, marked annually on 4th February, is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and supporting those affected by cancer.
Kate’s message comes less than a year after she revealed her own diagnosis.
The Princess underwent treatment in 2024 and has since gradually returned to public life. Last month, she confirmed she is now in remission.
While she has kept details of her illness private, her latest post is a rare and personal acknowledgement of the experience.
Prince Louis’ First Published Photo
One of the two images released was taken by Prince Louis, marking the first time one of his photos has been publicly shared.
The image captures the Princess of Wales outdoors in a frosted woodland, standing on a log with arms outstretched.
The second photograph, taken by the Princess herself, is a close-up of frost-covered ferns, overlaid with her message.
I do not think the nature theme is unintentional—Kate has long championed conversations around health and wellbeing, and her love of nature has been a recurring theme in her public work. From her Back to Nature garden at the Chelsea Flower Show to her interest in early childhood development, the Princess has often highlighted the benefits of time spent outdoors.
Last month, at an engagement at the Royal Marsden, the Princess spoke of needing “loads of sunlight” during her treatment.
