The Princess of Wales has shared the final video in her Mother Nature series.

Released on her 44th birthday, the short film titled Winter marks the conclusion of the Princess’s four-part Mother Nature project, which has explored humanity’s connection to the natural world across the seasons.
The Princess also features in this season’s instalment.

At the heart of the winter film is a reflective message about stillness, patience and inner calm during the darkest months of the year.

In the voiceover, the Princess of Wales speaks personally about gratitude, reflection and the quiet lessons nature can offer when life slows down.

Even in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience, and quiet consideration—where the stream slows just enough for us to see our own reflection, to discover the deepest parts of ourselves alongside the whispers and the pulse of every living thing.
The Princess of Wales
I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am. For the rivers within us flow with ease. Fears washed away. Cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears and discover what it means to be alive, to be at one with nature, a quiet teacher and a soft voice that guides in memory, helping us to heal.
The short film is shot in soft winter light and features the Princess walking outdoors, wrapped warmly against the cold.

The Mother Nature series began in spring and has unfolded gradually across the year, with each instalment reflecting the emotional rhythm of the season it represents. ‘Winter’ brings the project to a close.

Kensington Palace has previously described the project as a creative reflection on nature, wellbeing and human connection.

Let’s move on to Kate’s outfit now.
Kate’s outfit
For the final instalment of the Mother Nature series, the Princess chose a practical, countryside-inspired look suited to a winter walk:

Coat
In the video, Kate wears a dark green waxed coat with a contrast collar. It’s the Barbour x Alexa Chung “Elfie” style.

Designed for an oversized fit from a green stretch cotton fabric, the Elfie jacket features a lay-flat collar with a detachable green trim. It’s finished with a narrow waist belt.

This is the third time we’ve spotted Kate in the jacket. In 2023, a candid photo showed Kate wearing the coat to a football match supporting Prince George. In 2025, Kensington Palace released a photo to mark World Cancer Day, taken by Prince Louis. Kate could be seen wearing the jacket in that photo:

Hat
The Princess added a green baker boy–style cap to her ensemble.

The piece features a softly structured crown topped with a fabric-covered button and a short, stiff brim.
The cap adds a practical, almost heritage feel to the outfit, reinforcing the countryside aesthetic.
It could be the same design she wore last year, to meet with a group of Scouts at Lake Windermere in the Lake District:

At the time, we didn’t confirm the identity of the piece. But I agree with Middleton Maven and think she wore this design from House of Bruar:

Another option is this hat by Really Wild Clothing, but in a darker colour. Kate wore one of their hats before, 13 years ago.
The company still sell the style. Here it is on the company’s website today in Sage Green:

Again, Kate’s hat is much darker, but it could have been from a previous collection.
Sweater:
Underneath the coat, Kate appears to be wearing a dark knit sweater.

A ribbed detail is visible at the cuffs, suggesting a heavier winter-weight knit.
It’s hard to identify the exact piece she’s wearing; it could even be an older or well-worn piece from her wardrobe.
Scarf
Wrapped around her neck is a softly draped scarf featuring a paisley-style pattern.

The scarf appears to be in muted, earthy tones. The brand has not yet been identified.
Boots
On her feet, the Princess wears dark brown knee-high boots with a sturdy sole.

They closely resemble her ‘Tassell Boots’ by Penelope Chilvers, a pair she’s had in her wardrobe for 20+ years.
The Princess debuted the boots at the Blenheim Palace Game Fair in 2004, and they’re still going strong, making the cost per wear very low! The designer told The Telegraph that the Princess has never replaced the boots, to her knowledge.

Anybody wanting to buy the boots will be very happy to read that they’re still available. Costing £485, the boots are made in Spain
from quality leather and cut close to the ankle for a feminine fit. They’re finished with a sturdy Goodyear welt sole.
As with several items in the video, it’s difficult to confirm she’s wearing them. But she paired the coat with these boots in April, for the World Cancer Day photo. So I think it’s a likely guess!
