Kate Middleton exuded elegance in a green midi dress at Windsor Castle this morning.
The Princess of Wales joined her husband welcoming the Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden to the United Kingdom.
The Swedish couple are visiting the country for three days. Yesterday, the pair had an action packed day full of engagements, including meeting with Ukrainian soldiers being training in the UK by Swedish soldiers, a pub lunch in a Cambridgeshire village, a visit to Imperial College London’s White City Campus, an evening reception at the Swedish Ambassadors Residence and a dinner at the National History Museum.
Before meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales at Windsor Castle today, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel met with representatives from a Swedish business establishing itself in the UK.
Later, the four royals will attend the Royal Variety Performance. (And if you want to join me in a retrospective looking back at Kate’s previous gowns and a bit of fun speculation about what she could wear later, click here).
This isn’t the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales have met the Crown Princess of Sweden and her husband. The two couples conducted several engagements together during William and Kate’s royal tour of Sweden in January 2018.
Let’s take a look at Kate’s ensemble at Windsor Castle this morning.
Kate’s outfit:
As usual, the Princess presented a masterclass in understated elegance. She chose a tailored mid-length dress in a dark shade of emerald green matched with pumps in a similar tone.
I am pretty certain it’s an Emilia Wickstead dress. This hasn’t been confirmed by anybody official, but we know Kate owns three very similar frocks with identical seams on the bodice and the same belt which are confirmed to be from the designer. Here’s Kate wearing a shorter version of the dress in purple during a visit to Hamburg, Germany in 2017:
The dress Kate wore to meet the Swedish royals features a modest boat neckline, long sleeves and a fitted bodice that gracefully transitions into a gently flared midi skirt, giving a nod to the timeless A-line style. The colour choice exudes autumnal sophistication and transitions nicely into the festive period.
Emilia Wickstead uses the gorgeous emerald green hue in across her current season collection (though as Emma noted on X, Kate does seem to be wearing a different textured fabric.)
Below, the Maram shirt dress and the Ksora cape jumpsuit:
Let’s look at Kate’s footwear now. She’s opted for a classic pair of closed-toe high heels in a matching shade of green. She could be wearing her Emmy London ‘Rebecca’ pumps in the shade ‘Greenery.’ I cannot say for certain, but it’s a good guess:
The suede court shoes make a sophisticated statement with their rich, dark green hue. The design features a sleek, pointed toe and a straight heel, measuring approximately 4.5 inches, which not only adds height but also aims to elongate the legs. These features combine to create a shoe that’s as comfortable as it is chic, perfect for transitioning from day to night.
Kate debuted the green court shoes in 2017 on St Patrick’s Day. She’s worn them to ten other engagements since, making today’s meeting at Windsor Castle their eleventh public appearance. Kate clearly loves the Rebecca pumps—she owns them in eight other shades too!
For those looking to walk in the footsteps of royalty, you’ll be happy to know the Emmy London Rebecca pumps remain available for purchase in a wide variety of colours, including the Greenery shade worn by Kate. They can be found on Emmy London’s official website and at Wolf & Badger.
The Princess is no stranger to Emmy London. We’ve spotted her in 14 different pairs of Emmy London heels and pumps to date, which she’s worn to over 40 engagements at my last count. The brand is a top contender in her footwear collection. Her repeated choice of the label hints at a genuine affinity for their design and comfort.
Emmy London, led by the creative vision of Emmy Scarterfield and her husband Dickie, stands out for its dedication to crafting shoes that blend beauty with comfort. With roots in London, the brand exudes a family-oriented atmosphere and is committed to sustainable practices and handcrafted quality. After honing her skills with luxury brands in Milan, Emmy returned to the UK to establish her own label, which has since become a recognised British luxury lifestyle brand, especially noted for its bridal and event shoes.
The Princess finished her look with a pair of Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond earrings.
Kate debuted the earrings at Trooping the Colour last year, during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The double-drop earrings were a favourite of the late Princess of Wales, who wore them on numerous occasions. Kate’s worn them quite a few times recently herself.

I like the outfit on the Princess and the cut of the dress is perfect. That said, the tones of the earrings, dress and shoes appear to be clashing greatly. Maybe that is symbolic of how she is feeling with all the media attention regarding that Piers Morgan revelation.

I think they all look great.
Both couples have had to face rumors. It must be difficult to be a public figure. Personally, it would not be for me, but people fall in love and face challenges together.

The color of dress is beautiful on Kate.
Gorgeous hair and makeup, too.
The only spoiler for me is the toe cleavage showing within shoes.

No matter what Her Highness wears is always SUPERB!!

This dress is OK, but ditch the shoulder pads and find a different pair of shoes because these are not a match.
Catherine Carney says
I am not a fan of the shoe shoes as someone put “toe cleavage.” But it does look like she is wearing nylons. She hasn’t been wearing them in the last few years when out in dresses.
I wish she had chosen a different shoe color and earrings. However, I love that color on Catherine.

I would prefer to see “The Girls of Great Britain” tierra on Princess Catherine instead of Camilla because it would look so much better on her, and she can show off the true beauty of this historic piece.
