26th May 2021 — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge returned to the University of St Andrews in Fife, where they first met 20 years ago! Here, the couple learned about projects that support the physical and mental health of young people. They also spoke to current students about how they’ve coped and supported each other throughout the pandemic.
Later, they travelled down the coastal county to Pittenweem, a fishing village, to meet with local fishermen. They heard about the fishing industry in Fife and the impact of the pandemic on fishing communities on the East Coast of Scotland. Before heading off, the couple enjoyed a seafood BBQ.
