Three years ago, the Princess broke my blog wearing this gorgeous blue shirred midi dress by Tory Burch to a cacao farm in Belize—a fan frenzy crashed my server!
With spring and summer around the corner, I thought it’d be fun to find similar styles.
Below, find 6 dresses with the same vibe: blue, printed, smocked or shirred, with puff sleeves and square necklines—some midi, some maxi, and spanning a few price points.
1) Let’s kick things off with this beauty from New Look. An affordable dupe at just £32, I think you’ll agree:

Why this dress is a good dupe: The square neckline, puff sleeves and shirred bodice are very similar to Kate’s, as is the tiered skirt.
Yeah, OK, it’s missing the vivid, tropical florals, but I still think the damask print is pretty.
2) Next, this puff sleeved design by Blue Vanilla for £32 (also available at New Look and Debenhams).

Why this dress is a good dupe: This is my favourite option on the list. The square neckline, shirred bodice, tiered skirt, midi length and puffed short sleeves are all very similar to Kate’s, making it a good dupe.
I love the colour and can forgive the bold paisly pattern for not being colourful like Kate’s! It’s also a really affordable option.
Shop at Blue Vanilla, New Look or Debenhams.
3) Here’s a good option from Roman for my petite readers. This one costs £60.

Why this dress is a good dupe: The white and contrasting shade of cornflower blue, coupled with the broderie fabric. Both give ‘holiday’.
The shirred bodice, square neckline and puff sleeves all remind me of Kate’s frock.
Yeah, the colour isn’t a match—but I do think it’s a pretty option.
4) My fourth option is from Whistles, it is on sale at £99.

Why this dress is a good dupe: The top half, with it’s square neckline, puffed sleeves and shirred bodice, make this dress a good dupe. The length is a good match for Kate’s too.
I feel like this is quite a versatile option. It’s the sort of thing you could buy for a wedding, and then wear again and again.
However, we can’t ignore the noticeable differences. The button-up front, namely. Then there’s the floral print, which is more subdued than Kate’s (daisies vs vibrant tropicals). It also doesn’t feature the tiered skirt—which might be a bonus if you’re not sold on that style.
5) Another New Look option now, this one costs just £25.99.

Why this dress is a good dupe: I had to include this dress for its vibrant bold, blue colour. Again, it shares many elements with Kate’s original Tory Burch dress—namely, the square neckline, length and sleeves.
However, the floral print is small and uniform compared to Kate’s bolder pattern, and the silhouette is slightly straighter than Kate’s more flowy tiered shape. It does feature an elasticated bodice, but not shirring or smocking.
I love how New Look styled their model, with the red shoes and straw bag. Fun fact, Kate carried a straw clutch when she wore her dress too (a fan-shaped clutch with red accent).
6) Last but not least, this blue shirred midi dress from Marks and Spencer, RRP £49.

Why this dress is a good dupe: I hope you’ll forgive the fact that it’s plain. I am including it because the shirred bodice, square neckline, puff sleeves and midi-length make it a good option.
I feel this is another versatile dress that could be paired with heels for an event or gathering, but styled with wedges or trainers on a daily basis.
