Kate Middleton showcased a quintessentially British autumn ensemble during a visit to Scotland on Thursday.
Dressed in a tailored green quilted jacket featuring a classic check print by Burberry and a new pair of slightly flared jeans by Mother Denim, Kate’s effortless look was perfect for the outdoors engagements in the rural environment. Her casual yet chic BA&SH boots finished the practical look.
Unfortunately, due to family illness, I was unable to blog the event. I’m back and will have a full update soon. This is just a placeholder.
Full post forthcoming.

Good job on the BMX course, looks like fun.
I like those boots. I like the plaid fabric of the jacket. I think Burberry has another version of this jacket that is more nipped in the waist and I’d probably have put Kate in that one if I’d been her stylist.
The Mother jeans would look better with a different shoe. Cropped pants can be somewhat challenging to style nicely but they typically look good with flats, sneakers, chic heels, or a sandal of some sort that has something going on. (Not that one would wear heels or sandals for the bike course, though.) This particular pair of jeans just really doesn’t work with the boots, if they had been a few inches longer they would have been perfect.
I just wonder if Kate even has a stylist and/or a tailor at hand. In recent weeks/months the inseam of her pants has been sort of off. Either they are too long, or too short for the shoe/boot she decides to wear on a given day.
