Kate Middleton Shares Sweet Family Photos After Completing Three Peaks Challenge

The Princess of Wales shared a set of emotional photographs this evening showing the moment she reunited with her family after completing the final leg of the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge.

The Princess posted the eight images to social media on Sunday evening, taken at Snowdon, also known as Yr Wyddfa.

She thanked supporters for helping to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and shared a link to encourage further donations.

In the photographs, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were all seen supporting Kate at the finish line.

In one sweet image, William wraps his arms around Kate and the two hug tightly.

Other photographs showed Kate hugging George (who is almost as tall as her), Kate holding hands with Louis, and Kate embracing Charlotte.

Michael and Carole Middleton—the Princess’s parents—and her brother James were also at the finish line.

Kensington Palace shared a sweet photograph of the full group:

Kate’s brother shared his own tribute on Instagram this evening. He uploaded a photograph captioned, “I’m so incredibly proud of my darling sister ❤️⛰️”.

James wrote a heartfelt caption:

Two years ago, I told you we’d climb this mountain together. We talked about climbing mountains while you were in hospital, and about the incredible healing power that nature can have for both the body and the mind. So it was such an honour to join you for your Three Peaks Challenge for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Seeing how far you’ve come is nothing short of inspiring. Your strength, resilience, and determination, all while being the most amazing mother, wife, daughter, and sister, inspire me and so many others every single day.

Keep being exactly who you are ✨

He also encouraged followers to donate to the Royal Marsden.

Kate completed the National Three Peaks Challenge last weekend in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, also known as Yr Wyddfa, within 24 hours.

The Princess undertook the challenge after speaking openly about her own cancer journey and her desire to support others living with and beyond the disease.

In a personal message released at the time, Kate said cancer affects far more than the body, touching people physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. She described the challenge as a way to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back.

The Royal Marsden holds particular significance for the Princess. It’s the hospital where she received treatment for her cancer diagnosis in 2024. In January 2025, she visited the hospital and thanked staff for their care.

That same day, it was announced that Kate was in remission, and that she and William had become Joint Patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

After such a personal post, it feels almost secondary to talk about the clothes, but I know many of you are interested in Kate’s activewear and hiking gear, so here’s a closer look.

Kate’s outfit:

The Princess wore a navy top, which she paired with bright red hiking shorts by The North Face.

The Princess wore the brand’s Women’s Summit Series Pacesetter 3″ Shorts in Iron Clay.

The shorts are made partly from recycled materials, with a durable water repellent finish. They feature reflective properties (to help with visibility in low light conditions) and moisture-wicking, quick-drying fabric.

They cost £65 GBP / $80 USD.

The North Face has limited sizes left in stock in the UK, but nearly all sizes are available in the USA at the time of writing.

I think this is the first time Kate has worn clothing from The North Face (publicly)—though do correct me if I’m wrong and let me know in the comments.

The North Face is an American company that produces outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment. The company is known for its high-performance technical fabrics and outdoor gear. Its focus on sustainability makes it a natural fit for the Princess, who is known for being a conscious consumer.

Kate kept the sun off her face with a cap by Fjällräven, the company’s Est. 1960 Cap in Dark Navy.

The classic, unisex cap features an embroidered “Fjällräven Est 1960” logo on the front. It’s made from a durable, breathable G-1000 fabric, crafted from 65% recycled polyester and 35% organic cotton.

The hat costs $45 in the United States and £45 in the UK. For our American readers, size S/M is unavailable right now. But the hat can be purchased in L/XL. In the UK, it’s completely out of stock.

The hat can be purchased in other colours in both locales, including dusky rose.

Another part of Kate’s hiking ensemble came from Fjällräven, her backpack! The Princess chose the Lappland Hike 15 daypack in dark olive.

The versatile backpack has a slim fit and features an innovative back plate made from pressed discarded wool; a functional and sustainable alternative to petroleum-based synthetic materials.

The backpack costs £195 GBP and is available on the Fjällräven UK website. Unfortunately, it is not available on the company’s US website at the time of writing.

The Princess is a Fjällräven regular; she’s worn a few of their pieces over the years, including a forest green wool sweater, a green hooded jacket and a folk knit sweater.

Fjällräven is a premier outdoor clothing and equipment brand based in Sweden. Like The North Face, sustainability and ethics are central to the Fjällräven ethos.

Kate appeared to have thought through her look carefully, choosing a pair of garnet and gold earrings that coordinated with her red shorts.

The hoop earrings feature a removable garnet charm, so can be worn on their own as classic gold hoops or together with the gemstone. They’re handcrafted from 18K gold vermeil on sterling silver, and the garnet is ethically sourced.

Kate debuted the earrings in 2023 and has worn them a handful of times since.

The earrings are on the more affordable side of the scale, available from Spells of Love for $125 / £89. Each pair takes 10-12 weeks to arrive.

Kate is quite the Spells of Love fan; at last count, she’d added four pairs of the company’s earrings and one necklace to her jewellery collection.

Spells of Love specialises in high-quality, ethically crafted jewellery. Jewellery designer Hayley Jones launched the brand from a small studio in the heart of Wales in 2016. The Princess frequently wears the brand’s jewellery when she visits the country.

Kate must have needed a comfortable pair of boots to complete the Three Peaks Challenge. I’m sure many hiking enthusiasts will be interested to find out which pair she chose! Well, I can assist with that! She wore the Terra GTX style by Scarpa, a popular premium leather hiking boot that’s “designed for all-day comfort”.

The boot is widely known for its comfortable fit straight out of the box.

Each pair is packed full of features, including a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane, a PU platform for shock absorption, and a special outsole for superior grip and stability on muddy paths.

In the UK, the boots retail for £230. In the USA, Amazon have them listed for $258.59.

Another brand debut for the Princess—who up until now has preferred Berghaus hiking boots (for outdoors engagements, at least).

SCARPA is a premium outdoor footwear manufacturer based in Italy. It’s famous for selling high-performance mountaineering, hiking, climbing, and ski boots.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the Princess wearing an Apple Watch during the trek. I assume the step count on the device will be high!

I guess the green bracelet is something crafted by Princess Charlotte.

Kate finished her look with coordinating red socks, and her hair tied back in a practical ponytail.

Huge shoutout to KateMiddletonStyled for some of the details in this post.

That’s all for today. I’ll be back for Wimbledon finals weekend, if not before.
