On the 25th of March 2022, William and Kate attended a swanky reception on their final evening in The Bahamas—and their final evening of the Platinum Jubilee Tour. Kate wore a show-stopping ice blue gown by Phillipa Lepley (more on that later in the article ⬇).
The reception took place at the Baha Mar Beach Resort in Nassau. The pair were hosted by the Governor-General of The Bahamas.
The event began with a short ceremony to recognise the work of the Emergency Services throughout the pandemic:
Shortly after their arrival, William carried out a duty on behalf of his grandmother the Queen and awarded Platinum Jubilee medals to heads of emergency services in The Bahamas.

During the reception, the Governor-General delivered a speech, joking that he hoped the rain showers earlier in the day made the couple feel at home.
Over the course of the evening, William and Kate enjoyed a performance by The Bahamas National Youth Choir, raised a toast to the Queen in honour of her Platinum Jubilee and were presented with a model of a Bahamian Sloop sailing boat. Prince William also delivered his final speech of the tour:
He expressed his “support” and “respect” for any decisions The Bahamas, Jamaica and Belize have about their future (referencing recent news that Jamaica and Belize intend to remove follow Barbados in removing The Queen as head of state and become a republic.) “Relationships evolve; friendship endures”, he added.
One guest at the reception said Kate spoke to her about the children she’d met earlier in the day. She remarked that she’d like to bring George, Charlotte and Louis back to The Bahamas in the future. In his speech, Prince William fondly remembered holidaying in the country with his late mother.
This was the couple’s third reception of the Caribbean tour. Below, we show Kate wearing gowns in Belize and Jamaica.
Three very different but equally stunning evening looks, I’m sure you will agree.
Kate’s gown & accessories in The Bahamas:
It’s safe to say, Kate looked spectacular in her ice blue gown. She pulled off another fairytale look if you ask me.
The exquisite gown is by London-based bridal designer, Phillipa Lepley. The Duchess wore a bespoke version of the Vienna crossover wedding gown (thank you to Heaven for sharing this image).
The blue satin gown features a crossover front and a bow tie on each shoulder. Below: three Vienna gowns by the designer, all slightly different. I also show the Sophie Bolshoi Dance gown, which has the same crossover bodice.
Kate donned a new pair of sparkling shoes under her blue gown. They appear to be the Rania pumps by Gianvito Rossi. (Thank you to Heaven for this ID.)
The shoes are made from mesh with suede inserts and are embellished with Swarovski crystals. MyTheresa describe them as “a true Cinderella shoe”.
With an RRP of £1,750 GBP / $2,496 USD, the shoes are easily the most expensive Kate has ever worn (in public). (Something the Data Duchess has confirmed on Twitter.)
It looks like Gianvito Rossi has produced the sparkling shoe in several different colours. Below, we show them in white, nude/beige and my personal favourite, blue and pink:
The Duchess debuted a new bag at the reception: a perfectly coordinating blue clutch by Lulu Guinness. It’s the Hayworth style. The piece is made from blue silk satin. It’s sold with a gold chain, which Kate has either detached or tucked inside. (Thank you to Lady Parky for identifying the bag so quickly!)
You can clearly see Lulu’s iconic lips design on the bag’s clasp:
Anybody hoping to buy the blue clutch will be pleased to learn Lulu Guinness has just restocked it. Find it on the British designer’s website for £225 GBP / $295 USD.

EXACT MATCH! Want to buy Kate’s clutch? You’re in luck! This lovely blue bag is now back in stock on the Lulu Guinness website. I think it’d be the perfect ‘something blue’ for anybody planning a wedding.
Kate brought back her mother of pearl jewellery by Van Cleef and Arpels for the reception. The “Magic Alhambra 2 motif earrings” ($6,100 USD / £5,050 GBP):
And the matching Magic Alhambra 6 Motif necklace ($9,650 USD / £8,050 GBP).
We first spotted her wearing both items at the BAFTAs in 2020.
Created in 2006 by Van Cleef & Arpels, the Magic Alhambra® jewelry creations gather different-sized Alhambra motifs, coming together in a joyful dance. Inspired by the clover leaf, their asymmetric designs feature different associations of materials.
