The Princess debuted the sunglasses at Wimbledon in July 2025, wearing them to both the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles Finals over one sunny weekend.

They’ve quickly become a summer staple: she brought them back for her first visit to this year’s Championships, wore them at the polo the very next week, and completed the set at the 2026 Wimbledon Ladies’ Final—five outings in the space of a year.

About the Ralph Lauren sunglasses:

The RA5305U comes from ‘Ralph’—Ralph Lauren’s younger, more accessibly priced eyewear line—which makes them one of the most affordable items in the Princess’s accessories collection.

The frames have a classic cat’s-eye silhouette in the ‘Black Havana’ colourway: glossy black blending into a warm tortoiseshell pattern.

They’re crafted from a lightweight, water-repellent polyamide and fitted with gradient brown-tinted lenses offering full UVA/UVB protection.

Look closely, and you’ll spot the elegant ‘Ralph’ script logo on the temples. Each pair comes with a branded case and cleaning cloth.

Where to buy:

Good news—Kate’s Ralph Lauren sunglasses are still available, and currently reduced at both major stockists:

The style also comes in shiny black with grey gradient lenses, and beige-brown colourways, if you fancy a variation on Kate’s pair.

Kate Middleton and Ralph Lauren:

Kate’s love of Ralph Lauren stretches back further than her royal life—she was photographed in a Purple Label tweed jacket at the Cheltenham Festival in 2007, four years before her wedding, and brought that very same jacket back into rotation in 2025.

Nearly two decades on, the American label remains a quiet staple of her wardrobe, spanning blazers, dresses, knitwear, boots and accessories.

There’s a pleasing symmetry to Kate favouring these frames at the tennis, too. Ralph Lauren has been the Official Outfitter of The Championships since 2006—the first and only designer in Wimbledon’s history to hold the title—dressing the umpires, line officials and ball crews you see on court. The partnership was extended into its third decade just last month.

About Ralph Lauren:

Ralph Lauren founded his label in New York in 1967, starting out with a line of men’s ties before building it into one of the world’s most recognisable fashion houses.

Mr Lauren received an honorary knighthood in 2019, becoming the first American fashion designer to be so honoured, with the insignia presented by the then Prince of Wales—now King Charles—at Buckingham Palace.
