On July 8th 2015, the Duchess of Cambridge wore the red L.K. Bennett Cayla dress during a visit to Wimbledon with her husband, William.
The two sat in the Royal Box to watch Britain’s Andy Murray play against Canada’s Vasek Pospisil on Centre Court
Typically, Kate is known for wearing white or cream dresses to Wimbledon, so her red dress was a stand-out look!
On the 8th of May 2020, Kate spoke with veterans at a Royal British Legion care home during a party to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. The conversation took place via video chat as the country was still under ‘lockdown’ due to COVID-19. It looks like Kate wore the L.K. Bennett Cayla dress for that chat too.
About the L.K. Bennett Cayla dress:
The red midi dress features elbow-length sleeves, seams that run down the front of the dress and a full skirt. L.K. Bennett says the Cayla is your “go-to dress for that special occasion.”
Here’s how L.K. Bennett described the dress on their website –
Cayla is designed to flatter. Team with a simple blazer or cardigan and keep the colour to a minimum, think classic patent black courts and a box clutch.
The Cayla dress is made of polyester. The colour style is described as “Cardinal Red”.
Buying the L.K. Bennett Cayla dress:
The dress retailed for £250 on L.K. Bennett’s website. It sold out within four hours of Kate debuting it at Wimbledon, showing that the “Kate Effect” is still in force. L.K. Bennett reissued the dress pretty quickly, but that is now sold out too.
You can still find the dress listed on eBay. Otherwise, shop some of L.K. Bennett’s other beautiful dresses at the bottom of this page.
