Every Single Festive Piece Kate Middleton Wore to Her Christmas Carol Service This Year

It’s Christmas Eve, and if you’re watching Together at Christmas, you’ve probably already spotted Kate Middleton looking fantastic in her green coat, tartan skirt and star drop earrings.

Watching the much-loved concert has become a Christmas Eve tradition for many, myself included, and enjoying Kate’s beautiful festive outfit is a bonus.

The Princess has a real knack for seasonal dressing. She leans into rich colours, classic tailoring and thoughtful details without ever tipping into anything kitsch or costume-like.

If you’re wondering about the exact pieces Kate is wearing for the carol service this year, here’s a closer look at her ensemble.

The outfit:

Let’s start with the lush forest green double-breasted wool coat by Catherine Walker.

It’s a familiar favourite, worn twice before by the Princess:

She debuted the coat during her visit to Ireland in March 2020, before repeating it later that year for the final stop of the Royal Train Tour at Windsor Castle.

The full-length coat features a double-breasted fit and flare silhouette finished with angled pockets, metal-rimmed buttons and an oversized lapel.

Catherine Walker & Co. do not list this design on their website, suggesting it was a bespoke commission created especially for the Princess (I found the product image on the Daily Mail website, so I assume that was a PR handout from the brand).

You’d be forgiven for thinking the coat came with the faux fur lapel, but this is actually a separate accessory that Kate purchased from Troy London.

Kate’s clever styling trick instantly transforms the coat, giving it a more luxurious, evening-appropriate feel (and likely adding a little extra warmth for the winter event, too).

The fur lapel retailed for £65 in 2020, but unfortunately is no longer available to buy. Which I think is a huge shame!

Underneath the coat, Kate wore a festive crystal-embellished tartan midi skirt. We’ve not seen her wear this piece before. It’s by Miu Miu.

The skirt’s rich tones felt perfectly suited to Christmas Eve. Crafted from 100% wool, the design features a dropped-waist panel, tightly pressed pleats and a row of black velvet buttons.

The skirt originally retailed for £1,690 and formed part of Miu Miu’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection, so is no longer available to purchase.

House of Bruar has an excellent RepliKate if you’re looking for a similar option. Sadly, it does not feature the crystals. But otherwise, it’s a good option.)

This isn’t the first time Kate’s turned to Miu Miu for festive dressing. The Princess chose a red and green tartan coat from the Italian label on Christmas Day in 2018:

She has also worn the brand’s knitwear while filming festive segments for the 2021 and 2023 carol services, perhaps the closest we’ve come to seeing the Princess in a Christmas jumper.

On her feet, the Princess opted for black pointed-toe heeled boots by Ralph Lauren, which gave the look a polished, evening-ready edge.

The knee-high suede boots feature a pointed toe and full side zip. With an original retail price of around $1,100, they’re from an older season and are no longer available to buy.

Finally, let’s talk about those showstopping earrings.

Kate wore the ‘Tsar Star’ Stud Drops by Robinson Pelham—a long-standing favourite of the Princess, most famously having designed the earrings she wore on her wedding day.

The star earrings were a beautifully festive choice that felt seasonal without being overly literal.

The celestial-inspired design is crafted from 14-carat white gold and diamonds, and can be worn in three different ways: as a simple star stud, paired with the diamond star drop, or styled with the drop behind the ear for a modern twist. To date, we’ve only seen Kate wear them as a long drop earring at the front of the ear.

Personally, I’d love to see her wear the star stud on its own at some point.

The earrings are still available to buy but priced at £11,195, they’re certainly a luxury purchase. Each pair is made to order, with delivery expected after four to six weeks.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back to cover Kate’s Christmas Day look very soon. Until then, Merry Christmas 🎄
