On November 19th 2014, The Duchess of Cambridge attended Place2Be’s first ever “Wellbeing in Schools Awards” ceremony, held within Kensington Palace.
As you may recall, Kate has been Royal Patron of Place2Be since 2013. The charity works with more than 90,000 children in primary schools, often in the most deprived areas of the UK. The charity helps with issues including bullying, bereavement and family breakdown.
The 2014 awards ceremony celebrates the unsung heroes who have helped to improve the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children at school. Kate presented the Child/Young Person Champion Award at the ceremony.
Kate’s outfit:
Kate wore a peplum top by Hobbs London and a skirt by Jenny Packham. Specifically, the Duchess is wearing the Hobbs London “Emilia” top, (which had sold out prior to the engagement). The black and sheer top features a polka dot design.
Here’s how Hobbs describe the garment:
Sheer elegance sums up the stunning Emilia top from our Invitation range. Black textured crepe forms a figure-flattering shape and the embroidered polka dot design lends this a little alluring appeal, making it perfect for that special occasion. Team it with a pencil skirt for a retro feel.
Kate’s Jenny Packham skirt is from the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. It’s no longer available to purchase:
Kate wore a belt with her peplum top tonight, you may recognise it, as she previously wore during the 2012 Diamond Jubilee visit to Leicester. It’s the glossed-leather belt by Alexander McQueen:
Kate wore her Jimmy Choo Aimee shoes. These were first publicly debuted during The Duke and Duchess’s visit to Australia earlier this year:
Here’s how I describe the Aimee shoe over in the wardrobe section of my site:
The shoe features a built in platform, an almond toe, a leather sole and a suede covered stiletto heel. The Aimee pump has a 3.9″ heel and a platform of 0.2″. These shoes retailed for £375 (approx $630) at JimmyChoo.com. The Jimmy Choo Aimee suede pumps are made in Italy, and like all good quality Italian shoes, they feature a leather sole.
Finally, Kate accessorised her outfit with a pair of familiar earrings. They’re the Cassandra Goad “Temple of Heaven” girandole pendant earrings in yellow gold:
