On October 13th 2011, Catherine and William attended a low key gala event in benefit of a Child Bereavement Charity, organised by the ‘100 Women in Hedge Funds‘ initiative.
Prince William has been Patron of 100 Women in Hedge Funds since October 2009.
Kate’s outfit:
To the charity gala evening, Kate wore a bright red full length (maxi) dress, with a plunge neckline, flared sleeves and a tie around the waist.
The dress is by Beulah London. It is known as the Sarai dress and retailed for £595 back in 2011.
The dress is made from silk jersey with chiffon sleeves.
Today, you can purchase the very similar (almost identical?) Beulah London Tyra dress. At the time of writing, the dress costs £555, reduced down from £740.
Kate carried her gold glittering Wilbur and Gussie “Charlie” clutch bag. The bag once sold at FarFetch.com, where it was described as follows:
Gold silk ‘Charlie’ clutch from Wilbur & Gussie featuring a front flap closure, a full lining, an internal patch pocket, an internal logo plaque, a wristlet strap and a crystal embellished circular brooch detail.
We currently have no details about Kate’s shoes or earrings due to limited photographs from the event.

I am a real fan of almost everything Kate wears, but it is just me or is this dress too long on her?
Carly says
I agree too!
Liz says
I don’t care for this dress. It reminds me of a dressing gown!
Melissa says
Kate’s face and hair are stunning but the dress is not. This is the wrong cut for her.
Carol says
I am intrigued by Catherine’s accessory choices. I notice that she usually matches her purse and her shoes (same color). Here in the US that has of late been considered a faux-pas because the powers that be in fashion claim it is too matchy-matchy. I personally like a purse and shoes that match. I hope Catherine (re)starts the trend!

I definitely think this dress is a little too long, however I think it compliments her style with the wrap around and the neckline. I do love the red color on her!
