Kate Middleton owns this beige checked coat by Spanish brand Massimo Dutti.
She first wore the smart-casual checked coat to visit Derby University in October 2020.
The mid-length coat features blue and brown checks on a beige background. Kate paired the piece with slim-leg trousers, a blue sweater and a pair of black heels.
Photographers recently snapped pictures of the Duchess (opens in new window) wearing the coat while on an errand run in London (February 2022). The Duchess had visited the Peter Jones department store in Chelsea and was heading back to her car. She chose skinny jeans, ankle boots and a cable-knit sweater for her shopping trip.
About the beige Massimo Dutti coat:
In the original listing, Massimo Dutti described this coat as ‘handcrafted’. The piece is made from a wool-blend fabric and features a lapel collar. The coat buttons together at the front and is finished with two patch pockets.
Massimo Dutti’s trendy gingham print gives the coat a contemporary edge. However, this isn’t a style that will date quickly. I can imagine Kate wearing it for years to come.
Can I still buy Kate’s coat?
The coat quickly sold out at Massimo Dutti after Kate wore it in 2020. However, there are a few listings for the piece at eBay.com if you’d like to get your hands on the piece. Otherwise, check out the brand’s most recent coat collection on this page.

Does Kate own any other clothing by Massimo Dutti?
Yes! It appears the Duchess is quite the fan of Massimo Dutti clothing. We’ve spotted her wearing quite a few pieces from the high-end high street Spanish brand over the last couple of years.
Pictured above: Kate on three separate occasions wearing Massimo Dutti. In the left image, she’s wearing a blue linen shirt by the brand. The centre image shows Kate in a long camel-coloured coat by Massimo Dutti. The final image shows Kate wearing the coat featured on this page and a blue sweater underneath, also a Massimo Dutti piece.
About Massimo Dutti:
You’d be forgiven for assuming Massimo Dutti are an Italian brand, they’re not! They’re Spanish. They’re part of the same group as Zara, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius and Uterqüe.
