I am reasonably confident that Kate Middleton wears two pairs of the L.K. Bennett Frieda Cigarette trousers (black and navy).
Super-sleuth Bojana compared images of the Duchess at all different angles with stock images of the Frida trousers and lots of elements match up.
The Data Duchess counts five public wears of the trousers to date. She suspects Kate debuted the Frieda at the University of Derby engagement in 2020. (She paired the slim-leg trousers with an oversized coat by Massimo Dutti.)
It looks like she wore the black ankle-skimming trousers a handful of times in 2021 too. Here’s Kate wearing them during a visit to Pittenweem in Scotland in the spring.
She recently wore the cigarette-leg trousers in April 2022 during a visit to the headquarters of the Disasters Emergency Committee in London.
It looks like Kate owns the same trousers in midnight blue too:
About the Frieda trousers:
The Frieda trousers are classically tailored with a traditional straight-leg cut. They’re made from black stretch crepe.
Where to buy:
The so-called ‘cigarette-style’ trousers are still available to buy in limited sizes at L.K. Bennett (UK size 18 only), Jarrold (UK size 10) and John Lewis (UK size 12 & 18). RRP £125.
Note: The midnight blue colour, also worn by Kate, is available in all sizes for £62 (was £125).
Kate and L.K. Bennett:
Kate is loyal to L.K. Bennett. I’ve lost count of how many of their items she’s worn over the last decade since joining the Royal Family. Here’s just a small selection:
