March 14th, 2022—William and Kate attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in London.
They joined a number of other royals, including Princess Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.
Kate’s outfit:
The Duchess looked regal and polished in a sapphire blue outfit including a coat dress by Catherine Walker, navy heels by Rupert Sanderson, a matching clutch bag by Jimmy Choo and a bow-topped hat by Lock & Co. The hat and coat were both trimmed with velvet—so elegant.
Kate added a bit of sparkle to her outfit with a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings and a matching necklace. Many think the set formally belonged to Princess Diana and was adapted for Kate (though some disagree with this.)
Kate last wore the set together in 2020, when she met President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife, the First Lady Olena Zelenska. Many believe the repeated wear is a subtle nod of support for Ukraine.
A closer look at Kate’s accessories. Sadly, the black leather gloves remain unidentified.

I like the color of the coat, but I am not sure this is the best style for Kate. The truth: I don’t care for the length, pocket flap placement, the oversized covered buttons or the shawl collar. The black coat she wore for Prince Philip’s funeral was lovely on her and had the large buttons (if I remember correctly) but here the look is less successful. Kate is a lovely young woman and looks great in most of her fashion, but this is a miss for me. I have read many positive comments and I appear to be in the minority.
Kate’s hair, jewelry and make-up look fantastic. Oh, the jewelry is beautiful!

This look is pure perfection! Absolutely nothing to criticise. I think her gloves are Dents.

Sadly, they say they cannot confirm they’re theirs!
