The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a beautiful new portrait to mark a decade and a half of marriage—and there are several lovely details to spot.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since William and Kate said “I do” at Westminster Abbey on 29th April 2011. To mark the milestone, the couple have released a brand new family photograph across their official social media accounts.
The picture shows the Wales family of five lying barefoot in the long grass. Prince George is sandwiched between his parents, with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis lying on Kate’s other side. The family smiles as they enjoy the spring sunshine.
The beautifully relaxed photograph includes both family dogs, too. Cocker spaniel Orla, and her puppy.
Kate mentioned the new puppy a few months ago during a visit to a textile factory in Wales, noting the puppy was eight months old at the time (her mother, Orla, is five). That puts the puppy at around 10 months old now. We don’t yet know his name. The family didn’t reveal Orla’s name until two years after she joined the household, so we may be waiting a while on this one, too.
The palace shared a simple caption with the photo on social media: “Celebrating 15 years of marriage ❤️”.
The intimate snapshot was taken during their recent Easter break in Cornwall by Matt Porteous, one of the family’s most trusted photographers.
According to HELLO!, the couple are reportedly spending their anniversary privately this evening at Forest Lodge, their new “forever home” on the Windsor estate.
And as for what Kate is wearing in the new photo…
Kate’s outfit in the photo:
The Princess looks beautifully off-duty in the pic, dressed for a relaxed day in the countryside with her family.
She’s wearing a cream knitted top with horizontal stripes and short sleeves, which she’s paired with cream trousers. (Perhaps in linen?)
UPDATE: Tops is by Veronica Beard. Thanks to MiddletonMaven for the ID help.

The Princess has long favoured Breton stripes for off-duty appearances; she’s worn similar pieces over the years from Erdem, Boden, and Petit Bateau.
Her hair is worn loose and natural.
Jewellery-wise, things look pared right back. I see a small gold hoop in her ear and what looks like a thin gold chain around her neck.
I’ll update this post with full outfit IDs as soon as the pieces are found—keep an eye on the blog over the next few days.
