Some positive news this morning. Kate intends to increase her workload next year and hopes to join William on some overseas trips.
Prince William spoke with the UK print media in Cape Town earlier this week after the Earthshot Awards. According to an article published in The Times this morning, the Prince shared that his wife intends to do “a bit more” in 2025, while adding the cautious caveat, “hopefully.”
William confirmed that he and Kate plan to undertake some overseas visits in the coming year—which we’ve been hearing rumours about in the press recently.
The Times reports that the couple plans to visit “several European destinations in 2025,” but without their children, Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6), sadly
William explained that the children won’t be joining on these trips because school “takes priority over everything else.” He added, “Family-wise, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer.”
This news comes as Kate attended last night’s Festival of Remembrance exactly one month after her last public engagement. The Palace have confirmed she will be at the Cenotaph later today too, for the National Service of Remembrance, to mark Remembrance Sunday.
Kate’s two appearances this weekend reflect her steady return to royal duties after spending much of 2024 out of the spotlight. Kate’s kept a low profile this year following surgery in January, her subsequent cancer diagnosis, and treatment throughout the summer.
In September, the Palace confirmed the Princess had completed her course of preventative chemotherapy. They emphasised that she’d continue on light duties for the foreseeable future. Since, Kate’s conducted two public engagements, both in October, fitting around her children’s school holidays (she rarely conducts public duties during school holidays).
