Emilia Wickstead ‘Otis’ Cable Knit Sweater in ‘Sand’

Kate Middleton owns the Emilia Wickstead ‘Otis’ cable knit sweater in the colour ‘sand’.

The Princess wore the warm-toned sweater in a video released by Kensington Palace on the 14th April 2025.

In the short film, which was shot near Lake Windermere in the Lake District, Kate joined a group of Scouts for a countryside walk and a chat about the benefits of nature.

This is the only time we’ve seen her wear the sweater in public to date.

About The Sweater:

The 100% wool sweater is crafted with a luxurious supersoft yarn that’s spun to feel like cashmere.

The design features an intricate cable knit pattern which forms a V shape on the front and continues across the arms.

The piece also has a ribbed roll neck and a fitted ribbed hem.

The sweater offers a relaxed silhouette across the shoulders and bust, with a slightly more fitted waist.

Where to Buy:

Love this sweater? Sadly, the piece sold out rapidly on Monday evening, following the release of the video.

The luxury sweater retailed for £610.

RESTOCK NOTIFICATION: You can register interest on the Emilia Wickstead website and receive an email if your size comes back in stock.

How to Style the Cable Knit Sweater:

Kate styled the sand-coloured sweater for the outdoors, pairing it with practical separates from her favourite countrywear brands—including Berghaus, Bella Hoskyns and Really Wild.

For everyday wear, the cable knit sweater would elevate a simple jeans-and-boots look, or it’d add texture layered over a silk skirt.

The sweater’s warm neutral tone is very versatile. Pair it with earthy shades like chocolate brown, olive green and soft ivory.

You could also dress up the sweater by wearing it with tailored black trousers for city outings.

Emilia Wickstead is one of the top designer labels in Kate’s royal wardrobe, particularly when it comes to dresses.

The Princess regularly turns to the London-based label for high-profile royal engagements like overseas visits or jubilees.

This sweater marks a rare casual moment from the designer in Kate’s closet—in fact, I didn’t even realise Emilia Wickstead made and sold sweaters!

Founded in London in 2008, Emilia Wickstead’s namesake label is renowned for its modern femininity, clean lines, and impeccable tailoring.

A favourite among the British royal family and fashion insiders alike, the brand’s polished aesthetic blends timeless elegance with contemporary refinement.
