The azure blue dress is made from silk crepe de chine, features pleated detailing on the bodice, mother of pearl buttons, gathered sleeves, shoulder pads and a waist belt.
There are a few key differences between the dress Kate wore and the design Alessandra Rich sold in her ready-to-wear collection. Namely, the crystal embellishments on the shoulder and the crystal belt buckle—Kate had both replaced with plain blue fabric versions. See below:
