GET THE LOOK: Kate’s Middleton’s Military Coat from the Irish Guard’s Parade

On Monday, Kate celebrated St Patrick’s Day with the Irish Guards. She looked polished in a bottle-green military-style coat.

Knowing my readers always want to copy Kate’s effortless looks, I thought I’d put together a little ‘get the look’ coat edit:

1) A Gorgeous Military Coat in Forest Green

My first find was this green wool military coat from Karen Millen. It’s an absolute beauty that I think will become a wardrobe hero.

The tailored midaxi coat features a silhouette-balancing full skirt and gold military-style buttons. It’s made from a premium Italian 70% wool mix fabric.

It’s on sale, 40% off RRP at Karen Millen

Was £479, now £287
Was $819, now £489

Why do I love it?  It’s so versatile. The length is perfect for layering over dresses, which means it’ll be a warm layer for chilly spring occasions. When autumn rolls around, wear it with a comfy knit dress and black knee-high boots for weekend excursions. At Christmas, the festive colour will work for church services, parties, functions, get-togethers etc.

2) An Olive Green Option

OK, I found this full-length coat by House of Bruar in olive green. I wish it was a richer green for the purpose of this article, but I like the coat’s style—the long length, sleek silhouette, flap pockets and single-breasted closure make it a good option.

The coat is on the premium end, crafted from 90% wool and 10% cashmere.

Available at: House of Bruar £345 GBP / $455 USD (other currencies and worldwide shipping available).

Why I love it: Two words, understated luxury! I also like that it’s more casual than the first option, I don’t see this being worn at a wedding, for example. I’d pair with a knit dress or midaxi skirt and boots.
