Kate Middleton Shares First Glimpse of This Year’s “Together at Christmas” Carol Service

Kate Middleton has officially kicked off the festive season!

This morning, the Princess of Wales released a short teaser clip on her social media channels, hinting at the return of her annual Together at Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey.

The brief clip—just 9 seconds long—shows the Abbey’s grand doors slowly opening. The quiet, atmospheric moment signals the start of one of the Princess’s most beloved traditions.

This year marks the fifth instalment of the service, which will bring people together to celebrate “love in all its forms”.

Kate’s chosen this theme to highlight kindness, connection and community at a time when the world can feel fractured.

What We Know So Far

According to details released today, the service will take place on 5 December at Westminster Abbey.

As always, the Princess will lead the event. She’ll host guests who have been nominated for their dedication, service and acts of kindness across the UK.

A few standout details:

  • A-list readers: British stars Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Hannah Waddingham will deliver readings during the service.
  • Music & carols: The Westminster Abbey choir will perform, alongside additional musical guests.
  • A nature-inspired display: A festive installation focused on the role of nature in our wellbeing has been created by horticulturist Jamie Butterworth, with wreaths donated by RHS ambassadors and schoolchildren.
  • Nationwide celebrations: Fifteen linked community carol services will take place across the UK on the same theme of love and togetherness — from a community farm in Gwent to an arts centre in Newbury.
  • Broadcast times: The service will air on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day.

Last year, Catherine used the service to reflect on empathy, compassion and togetherness following her cancer diagnosis and treatment. This year’s service continues that thread.

With today’s teaser clip opening the Abbey doors, it’s clear the countdown to Christmas has officially begun…! And I can’t wait!
